walkerws
ASU has plenty of good stuff to work with. They'd have to be trying to look bad if that's what we get. It's Adidas. Adidas tries and succeeds at looking bad. Maybe we will see a return to the traditional ASU

My guesses are:Helmet: Gold, marroon, white, black, *one off*Jersey: Marroon, white, black *one off*Pants: Gold, Marroon, white, black, *one off*The one off will probably incorporate gray and be worn in the opener with A&M. The bowling ball helmet will not return in my opinion

PhlyBoy
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I really hope we don't see Sparky back on the helmets for ASU. It's a great logo, but not for a helmet. The pitchfork is perfect IMO. I remember hearing Nike may own that image though so that could be sad.
AndrewMLind
If Nike owns the pitchforks, those white cleats a few pages back would be problematic. So, I'd imagine that they don't.

Clintau24
The ASU equipment managers have posted a good number of pictures on twitter of gear with the pitchfork. I'd assume they're going to continue using it. "I believe in Auburn and love it!"
the_grateful_ted
Yea I thought ASU had a trademark on the pitchfork not Nike. Which is terrible cause Sparky, yes even on the helmet, is a million times better
FiddySicks
Sparky is a great logo and probably my favorite in any sport. That being said, the pitchfork is a nice transition for the school, and fits the whole brand a lot more cleanly. Arizona State has changed pretty much it's entire philosophy in the last decade. They're trying to move themselves away from jenky party school known for it's co eds and goofy logo, to a really solid institution top to bottom who has the intangibles to actually compete with the rest of the PAC 12. The Pitchfork fits this mindset pretty well because it's simple, professional, somewhat serious, and easy as hell to incorporate into nearly EVERYTHING in Tempe. I really warmed up to it and the way it was used while I lived there. Sparky is a nod to the past and it's good they kept him in some capacity, but the fork just works for ASU. the_grateful_ted
I guess for me in general, its just a mindset I don't like to simplify and dumb down everything, regardless of how strong it is already. We can see this now at TCU, where the horned frog is one of the most unique and great brands in college football. Now they're just moving to a bland "TCU" script that will replace the horned frog. It's just kinda sad, and this will probably happen to ASU too.

sportstar1212
I like both Sparky and the pitchfork, and I think that the two logos can coexist. I'd put the pitchfork on the helmet, and Sparky on the jerseys (it certainly would've been better on the sleeves than the ASU wordmark that they had). I don't think it has to be a case of one or the other.
Clintau24
I personally thought the Nike rebranding for Arizona State a few years ago was very strong. I liked the pitchfork a lot, and have always liked Sparky. The ASU on the shoulders wasn't terrible, but it worked well in the position it was. It's not impossible to have all three logos at the same time, in some form or fashion. Sparky is a great piece of the school, and should continue to be used, but the pitchfork is a nice bit to continue into the future with. "I believe in Auburn and love it!" I prefer asparky but if the athletic department wants to promote the fork ahead of him then ditching that poor ASU on the sleeves and putting Sparky there improves the jersey tremendously.
