The jersey does not match the gold helmet + pair with light colored (white) pants = a total disaster! If you are going to wear the gold jersey, create another blue helmet and pair it with blue pants.

I love Temple's new set

Unpopular opinion, I hate them. Those shoulder cap designs are god damn awful, way too modern for temple's brand, not to mention generic looking. Temple already had amazing uniforms, there was no need to make any other change than a template shift.

I feel you. Temple, lose the lame white helmet and fix your shoulder caps. Own your stripes, be like the Marquette of cfb

I'd love to see the orange vs black. How often do you get to play a game on Halloween, between two teams that historically wear color vs color, and that have both orange and black? It might be the child in me, but I think it would be pretty cool.

Agreed, it would look awful, but as a one time thing it would be really fun to see.
Clemson and Coastal Carolina did that a few years back..
Also the same day this thing happened as I recall.

There's apparently rumors of Tennessee wearing their Smokey Grey helmets and pants this weekend on the road at Alabama (hopefully not for this game, though). A UT beat writer asked me to mock up what it might look like. It actually doesn't look all that bad. (Yes, I know it's not on the Mach Speed template.)

Good grief, stop it already:

"EMBROIDERED STRIPES SYMBOLIZING MILITARY UNIFORM INSIGNIAS." Does Adidas seriously think it's fooling anyone with that? :censored: off, 3 stripes.

Apparently these shoes are to honor the late Pat Tillman.

Of course they are. It says right in the PT-42 badge description. ASU's tried getting a lot of mileage out of that, and the current climate of sports design is to mine your team's history for anything that can be used to justify a certain concept, so it's not surprising. That doesn't make me a fan of ASU football players running around like pretend-U.S. Army Rangers though.

Yeah it's ridiculous, but not surprising. ASU rides that Tillman angle HARD (and probably should). They had just finished the Pat Tillman Veterans Center when I first got there and obviously poured a TON of money into it.

You're right, this looks surprisingly good. I wouldn't want UT to start mismatching often, but it could be refreshing every once in a while.

So I don't want to be that guy, and trust me I'm all for patriotism and love of country (except most unis) and I respect the troops incredibly (I couldn't do what they do), but I have to ask. Why does ASU/Adidas continue to pump Pat Tillman products for sale. I understand what he did was incredibly heroic, so I don't mind ASU honoring him (like their field entrance for example), but wasn't the whole Pat Tillman thing an attempted cover up and became a source of disgrace almost? I don't know the whole story necessarily but I remember that they tried to cover up it was friendly fire.

(Not trying to be insensitive I promise. I respect Pat Tillman 100% for what he did. Just curious as why the powers at be enjoy making money off of it)

Georgia Southern is in white versions of their normal numbered helmets tonight? Is that new or have they done it before?

Kind of. Last week they broke out those white helmets for first time, but with their classic 'GS' on one side and numbers on the other. That was for their homecoming game, paired with blue jerseys and white pants.

Then they realized App St was doing a blackout so they countered that this week by taking the white helmets with them and doing numbers on both sides.
