Lee Noire
Why do the pros cover up their bare calves but not the college game? NFL rules require socks up to the knees. College doesn't have such uniform rules.I think I like the college way better, especially if monochrome continues to be a thing. The sock length in college prevents the leggings look. walkerws
It's still there sometimes. Especially in winter. In '98 the NCAA said everyone had to have the same socks but that went the way of the belly shirts
WSU151
In '92 or so, Florida wore blue socks with the all white unis against FSU. I'm not sure I've seen it since, but it looked amazing, IMO. I can't break down why...it just looked good. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

CLEstones
I think the college, shorter sock look is 1000x better than the long sock NFL look.
Jamikel
I think the college, shorter sock look is 1000x better than the long sock NFL look.I prefer the high sock look in theory, but I'm not a fan of the white sanitary bottoms, and really can't stand the parade of mismatched improperly worn socks that you see on any given Sunday. the_grateful_ted
Ugh this probably means some horrible Boise state black jersey (and yes I think that's a bad look for a normally gorgeous royal and orange and white team)

Not sure if it's something that's requested by the coaching staff, or just a trend. A few seasons ago, it seemed as if all of Iowa's players wore these. STL_ArchMadness
The new Virginia Tech helmet that yes is a straight rip-off of Navy a few years back but it is just plain gorgeous! http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/98633-2014-nfl-concept-expansion-series-dallas-cowboys/

sportstar1212
Sorry but that's a terrible helmet. Navy pulled it off, VT doesn't.Yeah, I have to agree. It's beautiful for Navy, but atrocious for VT.
waldowest
I'm definitely biased as a VT alum, but I think it looks sharp as hell. Shame they couldn't think of something more original though, but I've come to expect very little from VT in the helmet department.
razorback447
Yeah I think it looks great. They're using it for one game as a "military appreciation" helmet.
