Nice start. Be mindful to keep it different enough from the Mavericks and old Bobcats that also incorporate the mascot into a ball.

I think the head should be a little bigger, and the snout should overlap the right-most of the three seams. It's nice now, but a little too subtle. I think when reproduced on a patch or a small format, you want the head to be the main element. Also something is off about the eye - it looks a little too "playful".

I like this concept a lot. Definitely try to make the raptor a little more fierce, go easy on the teeth for sure, and maybe you could throw in a third color into the mix (maybe recolor the basketball something different like red or purple? make the raptor red or purple and leave the basketball gold?). If you really want to go the full nine yards and be more scientifically accurate, it wouldn't hurt to throw in a little plumage on the guy, although sports logos don't have the best track record with scientific accuracy. It would be interesting to see what it looked like more avian however, so maybe it's worth a shot just to see what it looks like, an experimentation of sorts if you're willing to try it. Making it so that it looks kind of fuzzy would be a good way to execute that without using actual detailed feathers (for reference here's a velociraptor: http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/diapsids/saurischia/velociraptor1_skrep.jpg ). Beyond that, I've got nothing. It looks great and I'd love to see a team use this at some point.

I knew I recognized this from somewhere:

I'm lookin forward to where you take this...it's a good initial idea, but needs some refinement.

Wait, this is stolen work?

It would seem he saying he saw it on Behance before, and now it's here. Appears to be the same designer, though.
