NFL Draft Picks "Posters"

Recommended Posts

First of all, this is the 2nd concept I have posted but the first one posted was anonymous in the "Phoenix: Russell Athletic Competition Phase 3" (I was Iowa State). Clearly I wasn't the best in that competition but I got a few votes so that lead me to believe I was ready to start my own concept threads. Secondly, I didn't know what to call these so if you can think of anything else feel free to share. Lastly, thanks to Brandon Moore for showing me how to make the players like this in my request for how to make the ESPN College Football ads.

On to the concept...

I wanted to make something like these for the upcoming NFL draft to post on on social media as each pick was being made. So I made some of previous players drafted in the last few years to get some C&C. I'm not sure if I should add the player's position or draft year or something else.

Are you taking requests

I'm not trying to sound rude when I say this (and I know you're new here), but it seems like every time a new concept is posted the only thing you post are "Are you taking request?" and "Who's next?". It's ok to ask that but try to give some C&C first.

I'm not currently taking requests but I might later. I want to try to get the top prospects for the up-coming draft ready for draft night. I'm going to do the first round and a few other popular players that get drafted in the later rounds of the 2015 Draft.

I'd thicken the lines on the font for the Cook one a bit, and smooth out the Saints logo. Otherwise, I really like these. I'd love to see some more.

I would if I could, but its a font you have to pay for (Uppsala $30). So I just typed his name in the font preview and took a screen shot.

ok point taken. The only thing I would change is put them in their pro unis with their college colors

That would be going the wrong way. This is showing the college player being drafted to their new team. How would I be able to do what you suggested on Draft night when the players haven't been in their NFL uniform yet?

Fair. just offering my c&c and also if these are the ESPN College football ads why wouldn't they be in the players college colors

These are NOT the College ads. Re-read the OP. I never said these are the ads. I was thanking Brandon Moore on showing me how to make the player like this through a different request(the ESPN College Ads). Click the link if you want to see what the ESPN Ads look like, then compare what I made and what the ads look like. You can see I followed the same steps from the ESPN Ad tutorial from Brandon Moore to make the players this way.

I meant to say they are based on the ads

That Sammy Watkins one is rough on the eyes. Maybe darken that blue to a navy. The Mike Evans one also feels lopsided, with all that blank area in the bottom. Finally, how does the Eagles one look with a silver BG and the midnight green as the shading? Might be more faithful to the team colors.

On the Watkins one; I wanted to use the 2 colors that are used the most in the logo so that's way its blue and red like that. I get what you mean with the Mike Evans one, the ball on the way right caused a lot of the extra space and the pants didn't come in as good as I wanted. I tried using silver(grey) in the background with the Eagles one but the player just didn't look right after, that's why I used the green and black.

Allen robinson to the Jaguars pleeeaasseee?

I have a Allen Robinson pic (without a background) from another project so I should be able to get him done pretty quick tonight. I try out many color combinations for each player on the background and for what ever reason they look better with the lighter color as the background. So your request with the colors will likely not look as good as you hope.

Here's a Marquise Lee to Jags one I already had done...
