the_grateful_ted Posted January 31, 2015 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Hello sportslogos forums so I'm pretty new here and I haven't posted anything before so I thought this would be a good place to share some drawings I had. The idea is that I'm throwing out some drawings and then I'll try figure out a program like gimp to use so I can create a whole University identity, creating whole departments and uniforms for football and basketball and all the other big sports. So here is are the Bismark University Boomers, located in Bismark, North Dakota. No one ever does teams from the Dakota area so I thought that would be fun. The name Boomers comes from the economic boom they had from oil pretty recently. I haven't given it color yet cause I want to get some comments from it, but I've decided they'll be Midnight Navy and Old Gold. First, I think a thicker outline on the numbers and oil drops would make this look a lot cleaner (leave the borders on the white highlights the same size though). Second, the primary seems a bit too vertical, I think it might look better if the oil rig was made a lot bigger with the B on it. Looking forward to seeing this computerized if you are able. The updated color scheme and loss of the highlight I think give it a more of a professional feel, which could be good depending on what you're going for, but I kinda liked the fun look of the old one.
