New Atlanta Hawks Uni Concepts

I have always been one to care about uniforms, logos and the general aesthetics of sports. I am a huge Hawks fan, and we pumped when the organization decided to go back to the pacman identity. Now that it is reported to be our primary identity starting next year along with some other changes, I assume our uniforms will reflect our new identity. I'll initially post rough ideas/sketches, and eventually add more polished artwork. You are welcome to post any ideas you may have and/or feedback.

What program are you using? Everything is pixellated. You have a decent identity here, but it needs much cleaning up. Make the colored outlines larger so it doesn't look like the alternate is the only jersey with blue on it. And please just get rid of the gray jersey.

Just rough ideas, definitely not cleaned up and vector-finished. Uploaded small file-size images as well, which is the cause of some of the pixelization. Thanks for the feedback!

It's a good start. Gray probably wouldn't work, though. Also, try putting "Atlanta" or "Hawks" on the away uniform instead of "ATL". The initials make more sense on an alt, in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback. "Atlanta" looks too crowded in this concept. "Hawks" or "ATL" fit best without the lettering becoming too small or forced.

I like your home uni, but your road and blue alt uni is missing something. Maybe it'll look better (to me anyway; you probably like what you've done) with a contrasting stripe like the home.

I don't "hate" the gray jersey, but I don't particularly like the gray element within the ATL organization.

What program would you use for vector finish? I always only use MS Paint (and GIMP, but rarely). Without going through the stickies, could you advise me on what's a good program? Thanks.

Best program to use is Adobe Illustrator, but as far as free vector programs Gimp is okay. I used Gimp for these sketches, actually, since I wasn't on my home computer. I don't recommend MS Paint for any finished or portfolio work, but it's okay to get ideas out with. Thanks for your feedback.

GIMP isn't a vector program. It's a bitmap program.

True! That was a misprint on my part.

As a fellow Hawks fan, I love the home White you came up with. The Wilkins era jersey has always been one of my favorites. Personally, I would like to see you keep the same format on the red and blue jerseys that you had on white and grey, just for consistency's sake. Perhaps, also, for the Blue alternate going back and updating the Pistol Pete era jerseys to stick with the throwback theme.

Thanks for the feedback! I've been working on similar designs for the red and blue versions like you mentioned. It doesn't seem to work as well as with the red and yellow. I haven't given up on them yet though. Honestly, I wish we'd go back to red and yellow, instead of the navy.
