Las Vegas Chargers. Make it happen... somehow.

If the Chargers move to Las Vegas to freeload off of the Raiders' new stadium, it would cement the Chargers as the most pathetic franchise in the NFL.

Is Sacramento a better fit than Los Angeles for the Chargers?

A hole in the ground is a better fit for the Chargers than LA is.

Up to this point, the Chargers in LA have been an unmitigated indefensible disaster.

Not even two years in and the franchise has already resigned itself to being the stepchild team.

It may go down as the worst and most short-sighted franchise move in pro sports history before all is said and done.

EDIT: Saw a site from twitter advocating for a Chargers move to London but it got taken down

Is a Charger move to London plausible?

It’s exactly as plausible as any other team moving to London.

Which means it’s a terrible :censored:ing idea.

Sure! Why not? There’s an old abandoned K Mart down the street whith a huge empty parking lot. Slap up some temporary bleachers and they’d draw about as well as they do now.

Even better: the big slab of concrete next to ARCO Arena that was supposed to be a ballpark.

The Raiders and Rams have long history and strong fanbase in Los Angeles. The Chargers played one year in LA prior to their move  so virtually no history, or fanbase. Had it been the Raiders joining the Rams in LA I think the story may have been very different than what we are seeing with the Chargers. I dont think the Chargers should have left San Diego. Where could the Chargers go if they dont stay in LA? Depending on what happens with the stadium measures on the ballot for November they could have a chance to return to San Diego. With the Raiders going to Las Vegas, they could see about a new stadium in Oakland but the Coliseum is out of the question at this point. I dont think Sacramento would be strong enough to support an NFL team, but I know they tried to lure the Raiders I think in the late 80s/early 90s. Portland, San Antonio, or Orlando would be other options.

Why is Orlando ever brought up?  Florida NFL is already saturated with three teams...and even that is too much.  Four is absolutely overkill.

Portland? Maybe.....San Antonio? Maybe

I say Orlando for multiple reasons. Whenever one of the startup leagues play, Orlando usually always has a team. Florida is a hotbed for football-high school, college, and pro. Orlando has also hosted the past two Pro Bowls with good numbers. I think Florida is big enough that it can handle 4 teams.

The Bucs have averaged "only"* about 60,000 fans (90% of capacity) over the last five years.  Putting another team 90 minutes away certainly isn't going to help that average.

* -- I put "only" in quotes because it says something to me about how much the NFL has skewed everyone's perspective/expectations that putting 60,000 people in the stands every week almost seems like a failure.

Orlando gets on the startup league list because theyre literally the only Florida market not covered by the NFL.  Pro Bowls are a one off event and cant be judged against a full season.
