MLB hats that would benefit from different colored bill

I mean in the terms of color theory. Colors that have too similar a gray value can blend together. The color combinations that can really pop involve a darker color and a lighter one, which is why I think a red bill looks better against navy than royal.

Heck, I think a red bill looks worlds better against midnight navy than the lighter navy in New Era's stock. The Indians just changed to the darker navy, and it's a ludicrously huge upgrade for so small a change.

I've wanted the Tigers to add an orange bill to their home cap for years. (Best I could find...)

However with the Astros, Giants, Mets, and Marlins all adding orange-billed caps in the last few years, it may be seen as trend hopping. But I thought of it before all that :P and it would really liven up their classic dull home look.

I think you just drew a mustache on the Mona Lisa. :D

I always thought this was a solid road cap. I am not sure why the Cubs dumped it.

In isolation, the red-billed Cubs cap wasn't a bad-looking cap, but the regular cap is such a classic, it should have never been bastardized.

The Marlins' black BP hat with the orange bill would look good as the full time away hat. The all black hat with the all black jersey is a little dull to me. I think possibly they've worn the BP hat in a game before but I'm not positive

there's a much simpler solution to that, one that doesn't involve adding new pieces to the uniform rotation

that aside, i do like the marlins BP

Agree about the Tigers and that orange billed hat, I would also add a blue alternate jersey for occasional use. If done tastefully, I think every team in MLB should have an alternate. Getting back to hats, the Pirates should bring back their gold billed hat from roughly a decade ago. Don't have a picture, I think they wore it about once a week.

This hat would look a lot better with a red bill.

I've spent a lot of time trying to forget the last days of the Irish Rainbows, when the Bucks were scraping the bottom of the barrel and trying to build a franchise around role players like Blue Edwards... thanks alot! :P

It would be cool to see the Mariners wear an alternate gray bill like they did in 1997 but with the S logo.

The brim on that cap wasn't grey, it was silver. I had one; I should know.

IMO, that orange bill doesn't work with the white logo. It might work better with the away logo.

I think, along with a few tweaks, a gold brim could look awesome for the Royals.

Right, but the Royals gold is litterly gold, not like "Lakers gold" which is basicly deep yellow.

.

Will be hard to find a good color for the brim, because if it´s the color of the batter logo on the back of jerseys and hat, and logo on sleeve , it will look crazy, since it´s real "gold" treads.

Astros pulled it off just fine.

I've always wished the Royals would emphasize the gold in their set more. I'd rather see too much gold than none.

The reason they don't do that is because they don't use orange at home, they do on the road but not at home. It does look nice though.

The Mariners have a teal-billed cap, if only they would use it more often!

I disagree. I think they look great in football, specifically as pants for gold and silver teams. Same with the Spurs' side panels.

The Astros' gold brim was fine as a fashion hat, but it didn't work as part of a baseball uniform. Baseball, more than any other sport, has traditional uniforms that don't mesh well with metallics. It's even worse with silver, as then you're combining metallic silver with gray. The White Sox' longtime BP cap with the silver brim is in the same category as that Astros' cap. Great as fashion cap (I have one), great as something which isn't part of their regular game uniform, but awful if thrown into actual games.

The Brewers "gold" jerseys look like crap because they're beige while the accents on the cap and other jerseys are metallic gold. Metallics in baseball can only be used successfully as accent colors. Trim on the hats is great, trim on the numbers is fine, but the only time metallic numbers have ever looked good is on the Mariners' teal alts.
