I have been looking for that OSU alternate helmet everywhere, can't seem to find it. I almost bought the full size one at the equipment sale but I could pull the trigger at 1500$.

Got mine from The Buckeye Corner in Polaris.

If you sign up for a free account they knock a few bucks off the price, plus you get free shipping when you buy $20+ in Riddell products. Win-win.

ScoreHere is awesome (I buy most of my minis from them because of the discounts and free shipping) and there are plenty of Ohio State chrome speed mini helmets on ebay.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

I don't collect minis, I collect full size helmets if you're interested in seeing those. I'm pretty sure several posters here collect and create them as well. I should be adding a ninth here before football season.

Andys%20Helmets_zps5cqwlfr2.jpg

Can I ask what team that Dillon helmet is for, and where they are from (obviously Dillon, but what state?)?

Dillon Wildcats (Dillon, South Carolina) Reigning Back-to-Back-to-Back AA State Champions. All of them except for the throwback Broncos and my personal Red Army helmet are high schools from SC.

Is that an old Middleton helmet?

UHMINIHELMETS1_zps5bzwnry7.jpg

Custom mini and pocket pro UH helmets alongside full size authentic helmet. The small candy red helmets were painted with a base coat of Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal Silver applied in multiple light coats 15-20 mins apart and left to dry overnight; color coat is Tamiya TS-74 Clear Red (applied the same way); gloss coat is Pledge Multi Surface Floor Cleaner (used to be known as Future or Pledge with Future Shine).

I have an LSU mini helmet that was given as a gift, then have the following Pocket Pros, or whatever the REAL tiny ones were called. This is the 2006 era alignment. All of them are still in my room back home.

Big East(Miami, VT, and BC were still there)

ACC

SEC

Big 12

Big 10

MAC (actually a thing)

NFC east and south

AFC south

I always wanted the Pac 10 but they had the new revolution helmets and I wasn't having any of that.

Man...remember those little ones you'd get in gumball machines that came with the shell of the helmet, the face mask and stickers all separate? I remember getting a Cleveland Browns one (this was before I really started watching football) and asking my dad where the logo stickers were. I had a decent collection. Same with the little MLB hats. I wish I kept them.

I've got my Devils minis on display in my new place.

I also just got my first ever full sized helmet. It's ASU's Desert Fuel helmet from last year vs Notre Dame. That game was also the last ASU football game I attended as a student. Pretty solid finish to my college days, so I figured I'd drop the extra $$$ to commemorate it a bit.

The paint job looks really good on those red helmets. Did you wet sand or just paint? I've never tried Tamiya paint but may have to after seeing your job. Great work.

My pocket pro collection, aka the best $99 (and additional $3.95 every summer to update a helmet) that $99 can buy in the world of sports memorabilia. Also a MLB pocket helmet collection from 2008-ish above that

I agree that it is the best that $99 can buy and I am with you on always having to keep it updated! My girlfriend teaaes me about it but I can't let it get outdated!

Tamiya's silver covers beautifully and went on with no problems.

I did have to wet sand the clear red but only because I screwed up. You have to build up the color via multiple light coats (the first few will look more pink than red). I found that I hadn't done a good job of applying the paint evenly and as a result some spots looked darker than others. I lightly wet sanded the dark areas back a bit with some Micro Mesh sanding pads (3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000 and finally 12000 grit), and then applied a couple more light coats of the clear red over the entire helmet, making sure this time to paint from multiple angles to ensure even coverage.

I'm will be doing more UH helmets soon using Alclad's bright silver base and candy red paint applied via my airbrush instead of Tamiya's rattle cans. I'll let ya'll know how that works out.

Imo these turned out much better than my previous effort. I will be using Alclad from now on.

Once again, not a mini, but here's my newest addition to my helmet collection. It was all black with a different mask style when I got it. A few coats of paint & enamel while adding the best style of mask (also repainted), and we arrive at this beaut.

Hey Bucfan or anyone else, I'd really like to get one of those yellow Arizona state pitchfork riddell speed minis. I can't find one anywhere, I think riddell may have discontinued it. Of course they make every other variety. Anyone know where I can find one? TIA
