SSmith48
Hey guys-My name is Stephen Smith, and I am a new member. I have stalked the boards for a little while, but finally decided to join in. My first topic I will post here is on one of my personal hockey leagues: the United League of Ice Hockey.HISTORYThe ULIH was founded on April 6th, 1946, and began play on November 3rd of that year with four teams: the Pittsburgh Cougars, Detroit Bulldogs, Toronto Tigers, and the Boston Portsides. As the league grew in popularity, it expanded west then south, and by 2006 had a total of 20 teams. The most recent Williams Cup champions are the Detroit Power, with the league MVP going to Utah Scouts goalie Tyler Simmons.TEAMSThe league is divided up into 2 divisions with 10 teams in each:EAST:Detroit PowerMontreal SaintsToronto TigersBoston PortsNew York KnightsMiami SkippersChicago StarsMinnesota ThunderbirdsWashington EaglesTennessee PioneersPhiladelphia*WEST:Seattle MetrosVancouver KodiaksCalgary SteersDenver BanditsLos Angeles QuakesArizona ScorpionsHouston EclipseSan Francisco InternationalsUtah ScoutsLas Vegas DevilsSaskatchewan**=Expansions needing namesTo start the series, here is the division and league logos:Now I know these are a bit big-I'll try to get that fixed. DTConcepts
I think Denver. The Bandits have potential to have a really cool identity. "You ain't gonna learn what you don't wanna know..."

EJaws
A name for Philadelphia could be the Poison, with the logo being a snake with dripping fangs or something like that. Colors should be Lime green and a bold purple color, with black or white for the 3rd color For Saskatchewan i was thinking the Stealth it could be a remake of the NLL San Jose/ Washington/ Vancouver Stealth. with the same colors
Dayne Amaze
you should atleast spell Patriots - Patriotes - the French translation... It's Montreal, not New England after all.
Darknes
Maybe for the Revolution for Philly?

Not what I was thinking for Philly, but it could be a great idea! As for the Stealth, I was thinking maybe something more connected to Saskatchewan itself.you should atleast spell Patriots - Patriotes - the French translation... It's Montreal, not New England after all.Ok. I'll fix that in the first post. It does add a bit more city pride to the team.Maybe for the Revolution for Philly?Again, another interesting idea for Philly. I'll also take this into consideration.Anyway, time for the first team... the Seattle Metros!HISTORYIn 1950, the ULIH decided to expand to the west for their 5th and 6th teams. Seattle was an obvious choice, due to their own hockey history. A wealthy coffee mogul, Ronald Mangold, was looking to expand his brand outside of Washington state. His was originally going to name the team the Cascades, but after continuous marches to try and bring the Metropolitans back, Mangold finally gave in. They adopted slightly less ridiculous uniforms, but re-introduced the original logo. after the 1966 campaign, Mangold decided to shorten the name to Metros to fit in more with the fads of the time, and bring them into the future. After winning a couple championships in the 1970's, Mangold sold his team to a group of investors. After this, the team normally finished in the middle of league play, and shared an arena with the Sonics. Attendance continued to drop into the late 90's, when the ownership group sold the Metros to the fictitious Emerald City Sports and Entertainment Group. They introduced a revamped brand with a color that the Metros never wore in their history: yellow. However, after the 2011 season, the brand was again revamped to a modern-classic look with the original colors. Also in that year, they drafted their superstar: defenseman Ryan Jusacky. This year, they finished just outside the playoffs, only needing one more game to get in, and moved into their new arena: Starbucks's Northwest Center.BRANDI wanted a nice, classic but modern look, so I brought in the S, but true to recent fads, I decided to put the text outside, instead of inside the S. I also wanted them to have a retro color scheme with the Green, Red, and Cream. The font is Dribbler, by Conrad. As for the uniforms, I wanted to keep the stripes, but relegate their usage to more of a detail. Again, the font is Dribbler, and the template is from Paint Users Paradise 2.0.As always, C&C is welcome and appreciated.Edit*: Mistake found on Home uniform, changed out picture. atwarren44
Looks good but the yoke steps on the green jersey are white on the back when they should be cream. Also,he NaOB on both could be bigger and the the NaOB on the green jersey should be cream. I think it would look better if the arm stripes were the same width as the stripes on the yoke and if there was some sort of waist stripe, even if minor. Darknes
Saskatchewan could be the simply called the Brigade referencing their military history.
T-ROY
I was thinking Bulldogs for Philly (play on the words of Broad Street Bullies). For Saskatchewan, maybe something concerning agriculture. Also concerning the "Patriots" nicknames, I would just not use "Patriots". You never really hear patriots for Canadian usage. I would go with "Voyageurs".

SSmith48
After careful consideration, and some research, The Montreal Patriotes have been renamed the Saints, due to some of Montreal's nicknames and Montreal being home to the largest church in Canada. Name will be edited in the first post. Visit my website at SSmith Designs (google.com)
SSmith48
Hey guys- So, I have been thinking about a whole series of logos and uniforms, and I want to let my logo design skills ripen a bit. Therefore, I will focus more on unis than logos, so I will get back to this series when I feel the time is right. As of right now though, this series is postponed.
