pitt6pack
In honor of the up-coming holiday (for us Americans out there) I've got a patriotically themed fictional football team, the Washington Stars. This is a team I created for a fictional league of mine back in '09 that has undergone quite a few changes since then, but I'm nearly done with the concept. I'll take C&C but I won't be able to make any updates to anything for a while due to holiday chaos and nice summer days, but it will be appreciated. To start things off, here are the primary and secondary logos:Colors:Red - 155, 28, 44White - 255, 255, 255Blue - 51, 51, 95Gold - 214, 162, 0Primary logo:Star with sublimated stars and stripes with the team wordmark. This is the only place I use the gold throughout the team's concept.Secondary logo:The union shield with the city abbreviation in the font style of the team wordmarkThe rest of the team is complete, and I'll post all that a bit later. As with everything I make, this was done in MS Paint. Enjoy your 4th of July (and Canada Day today for our pals up north ) The Gridiron Uniform Database Simulation League (GSL)
ECUFan25
I'm sorry, but that font needs a LOT of work on the primary. I could barely read it. If you are absolutely set on using a font like that, I would suggest to use eriqjaffe's oilers alt that looks like that sorta, if it's ok with him. Other than that, great work! WavePunter
I'd change the wordmark to represent the city instead of the nickname.. The giant star kinda conveys the "stars" idea already.. Otherwise, I like it

Otherwise, I like itThese are two good observations. The actual wordmark for the team (I'll post that shortly) has the same outline as the "WSH" which makes it less bold and more readable than what's on the primary logo. Before I think about completely changing the font I'm going to post the wordmark first. WavePunter, I think you make a good point that the star itself is enough to convey the team name aspect so I'll try the WSH abbreviation when I get the time. If I make that change then I think for the secondary I'll change the WSH to DC, so they both don't have the same text and it will work out better to have Washington abreviated on the primary and DC on the secondary. Thank you both for the input. The Gridiron Uniform Database Simulation League (GSL)
pitt6pack
WordmarksPrimary:This is a custom font I made for the wordmark a few years ago. The OCD in me centered the 'A' with respect to the rest of the mark. An earlier version of the logo had a full star beneath the A, with the A being the tip of the star, like the old Dallas Stars logo.Secondary:The S resembles the S in the primary mark, but I may change that for consistencies sake. I don't have a mark for the full city name, but I may end up doing that at somepoint, but for now I feel the abbreviation serves its purpose and is easier to work withWith future changes to logos as discussed in the above post, I will probably add a "DC" mark as well The Gridiron Uniform Database Simulation League (GSL)
jrcollis714
Not good. Reminds me too much of the old Dallas Stars logo, and this looks way dated. Favorites: Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, New York Rangers, New York Knicks, Cam Newton ND Irish Least Favorites: New York Giants, New York Mets, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Eagles, OBJ
pitt6pack
Not good. Reminds me too much of the old Dallas Stars logo, and this looks way dated. Can't argue with you there, I've noticed before the shape of the star is similar to the old Stars logo, but when I first came up with the star it was over 6 years ago and I hadn't seen the Dallas Stars logo before, and I've just kept the shape. Just room for future improvement since logos have never been my strongest area. More originality will probably be the next step when I get around to working on this concept again. Well I still have the uniforms and fields to get through.Uniforms:I failed to mention this before, but the colors are accurate to the official colors of the flag, and in the away alternate I modified the colors to give the uniform a more dated 1776 color scheme (probably not a necessary uniform for the set). The helmet striping is obviously inspired by the Patriots old helmets, I just adjusted widths and spacing. I tried to be more conservative with the jersey striping and design and went a little further with the pants. 1insaneguy
Wouldn't mind if this was the name of the NFL team here. I just want to know, why is the field (specifically the endzones) different depending on the time of season?
