Seattle Totems NHL Expansion Concepts

This was my second go around at creating a Seattle Expansion team concept. My first attempt was very much based off of Seahawks colours and patterns but I changed it to be more based off of the former Seattle Totems hockey team.

Still not sure about this. Logo looks really dated and weird, and the patterns ruin the jerseys. I still think the uniforms look clunky.

The alternate is based off of the former Seattle Totems uniforms, so it's not supposed to be detailed. Also, the Red Wings and Lightning thrive off of lack of detail. Also, still not sure how it's "dated". I was hoping I would get better C&C then what I've received so far.

These definitely aren't bad, but could use some work. I would change the font for sure. It seems outdated. I'm not sure about the patterns, but they might work eventually. To post an image, click the little thumbnail of a polaroid picture next to the unlink button and copy the image address (for Mac, idk what it is called for windows) into the box. It should come up.

I just put them up so people don't have to click the link.

This looks like a solid start. I'm not as much into the secondary logo, maybe if the Space Needle in the middle took up more of the space it would look better to me. I like the primary and alternate logos quite a bit. The jerseys look pretty sharp.

When posting, two images to the right of the Link button there should be a button that looks like an old-fashioned photo that says Image when you hover the mouse over it. Click on that and then post the URL address of your image in the textbox and click OK, then the image should be showing up in your post.

Thanks for the help with posting images. Chances are I won't change anything else. This was more for fun for me. This was the first NHL concept I've created and just wanted to do it for my pleasure. As a first time concept creator, I was happy with it and that's really all I care about. I know some people will like it and others won't. I just wanted to share it to get some opinions on it. I appreciate the helpful C&C. What I didn't apprectiate, as a first time topic poster, is the people that just say to start over. It's not helpful at all. Just saying.

The colour is too similar to the Dallas Stars. I understand your choice of the colours, but maybe using navy as a primary is a better route. Just as long as the navy isn't as dark as Winnipeg's, which looks black.

It's good for a first go, in my opinion, I wish I had the resources, patience, and confidence to post some of my ideas. I feel there is too much white in the logo, and that you should have used a different secondary color. Just my $.02.

I like the creativity here, but I will suggest a few things.

First the logos. The main crest on the home and away might be a bit too detailed. Simplify it if you can, or at the very least make sure there is some contrast in the colors. The colors don't pop and the whole picture sort of blends together. Especially the lighter grey, which gets lost in the white. Darker colors in the main logo would look better and make it more visible. I would also recommend bolder/thicker outlines around the image itself so that it stands out better. Oh, and lose the ''Seattle Totems'' text beneath the logo. It clutters things up and if you need to spell out the team name you're doing it wrong. Yes, I know that the Canucks and Lightning do it, but it looks tacky when there's a logo next to it. A team should be recognized by their colors and logo, not because it's spelled out for everyone. The alternate logo is alright, but the words are very hard to distinguish. Again, there needs to be some contrast there otherwise it's unreadable. You should probably just make the letters plain white.

As for the jerseys, you have some good things going on, but it could be cleaned up a bit too. The white and dark jerseys I like, but they also look like green versions of the Carolina Hurricanes! Keep that in mind for any future revisions. Your team needs to be unique and while this certainly has the potential to set itself apart from any other team it could use a few changes. The white jersey looks a bit plain. Aside from the yoke, there really isn't a whole lot of color and it leans towards the bland side of things despite the patterns on the arms and hem. It could really benefit from more green.

Don't be afraid to try something different with your alternate jersey. Your Home and Away at the very least look interesting, but your alternate has nothing going on. Actually it's kinda boring. At the bare minimum you should at least make it a different color than the other green one.

The font is hard to make out too, in both the letters and numbers. It's definitely unique which is good, but it's hard to read.

All in all, not bad. But it could be drastically improved.
