oldschoolvikings
Go Hawks! No one appreciates that vulgar talk Wornell! I'm guessing no one appreciates having their real names used on here either.Doesn't bug me. I just don't understand all of the Hawk hate.Didn't we just have this discussion with the patriot fans yesterday? Except the Seahawks haven't won quite enough to hate them for success alone yet.Personally, I can find more than a few reasons to hate them (even before last week).Smarmy, douchie coach who cheated his ass off at SC then bailed; loudmouth braggerts on defense who get gifts handed them act like they earned (and even worse, deserved) them; and a QB that has a creepy holier than thou vibe, and just always looks... I don't know... somehow oily. I mean that literally. And, yeah, they win too much.Oh, and I can't believe I forgot this (on this board of all places)...I despise their uniforms! Oh, Lord, how I hate their uniforms! Obviously for the monochrome hideousness they've pioneered across the NFL, but also because of how much I loved their colors and logo way back in the 20th century.OK, I'm done now. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
FiddySicks
I've never met dumber football fans in my life than the Seahawk crowd I encountered at the Cowboys game this year. Nice people who were clearly more worried about showing off those Nike colors than the actual game. I overhead gems about "fifth" down and "where is Arlington? I thought we were in Dallas."Short response: Go Panthers. I moved from Seattle back to Arizona in 2014 after a summer of working for the Seahawks, and I can't even tell you how many of my friends kept calling or texting me asking if I could book them hotel rooms fro when they we're back in the Super Bowl. This started in AUGUST, and continued almost the entire season. If they would've lost the Super Bowl in the manner they did to anyone but the Cheatriots, it would've been the sweetest thing ever. Panthers in white today? That's strange. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) infrared41
Glad to see the Great Satan removed from the running. Panthers/Cardinals would be ideal.I could've sworn the Patriots won that game they played today.Patriots aren't the Great Satan. They're Wal-Mart or Nike or John Cena now. They're Minions. If you think anything interesting happens in the AFC so long as Brady is still playing, think again. It just doesn't matter. What matters is that Aaron Rodgers, master of the "how the living hell did he just make that lucky-ass throw? AGAIN?" technique, has been deprived a replay of the 2010/11 season. The only thing I can hang onto is that Rodgers' Packers teams continue to blow it in the playoffs until he retires.Has Aaron Rodgers done anything bad to you personally that you have such an uncalled hatred on him? Or are you just a depressed Bears or Vikings fan?CS85 has a...how should I put this...original approach to being a sports fan. It's a bit of a high wire act but it seems to work for him. DG_ThenNowForever
Worst way to start a game: "I'm Joe Buck along with Troy Aikman." Just kidding. That's the second-worst behind Nantz and Simms.Anyway, I don't know how I'd feel about the Seahawks if I didn't live in Seattle. It's way easy to get wrapped up in the whole 12 thing (which explains the "fifth down" you've heard in Texas -- there's a LOT of new fandom here), plus it's just fun to live in a city that's winning games. I wish everyone in a metropolitan area who cares about sports gets to experience a playoff march and championship parade; it's pretty fun. I get the Russell Wilson robot critique, but he's also one of the three best QBs in the NFL over the last four seasons. I get the annoyance with the LOB, but they have had the #1 defense over the past four years. But like any consistently winning team, people get a) tired of the winners and jealous that their team isn't there too. My Seahawks fandom is tempered by my Bills fandom, and both intensify the feelings I have for the Patriots. Contrasted to the Yankees, Lakers, Packers and compared only to maybe Barcelona or Real Madrid, the Patriots have been a championship-contending team every single year since 2001 (with the lone exception of the Cassel year). New England has stepped on my Bills for 15 years, and beat the Hawks in last year's Super Bowl. Plus spygate. Plus deflategate. Plus random black eyes. Plus weird headset issues at Gillette. Plus Gronk envy. Plus Brady's stupid Trump fandom. Plus the fact that Brady never gets hurt and Belichik never guess wrong and unlike Manning, Brady has only gotten better. The Hawks have been in the top half of the NFL since the Hassleback years, but they also had the dip where they were starting (or thinking about starting) Charlie Whitehurst, Tavarius Jackson, Seneca Wallace and Matt Flynn. Seattle (like Carolina and Arizona) has at least been through the wilderness between Super Bowl appearances. The Pats need a good, long winning drought for the good of the game. And my personal sanity. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

DG_ThenNowForever
Yikes. If it's any consolation to Vikings fans, Seattle's so far experiencing a 2000 NFC championship game-esque pounding. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Dogeshak
As a Vikings fan, it is good to see Green Bay lose, especially to Larry Fitzgerald (went to Academy of Holy Angels near Minneapolis). Heck of a game. When the Seahawks lose, everybody wins though.

It's really not as colorful or vitriol-driven as I make it out to be. I take it personally in a contemptuous way and it's admittedly stupid, but after like an hour I don't really care anymore. Unfortunately the internet has a way of providing me instant relief, and I let the castor oil of my sports fury spill out of me and into this little box of text. Not really something I'm proud of nor is it directly representative of me as a person, but considering that it's my established gimmick, I may as well play it to the bone.
