Morgan33
Thought it was terrible until comparing it with the previous logos.
TheGiantsFan
I really like the, in my opinion, classic vibe going on with this logo. Although Times New Roman-style fonts aren't exactly my favorite, it goes really well with this logo. BEHANCE | PORTFOLIO
FGM13
Awful. Vancouver 2010 is still my favourite (bias? Nooooo, never). GO OILERS-GO BLUE JAYS-GO ESKIMOS-GO COLTS
cubsfan2015
Awful. Vancouver 2010 is still my favourite (bias? Nooooo, never). You can never go wrong with bias. But Vancouver had a very popular logo and mascot,so that's the whipping on the pie.
DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
Looks pretty good when you compare it to the Paraolympics logo. Helps you kinda see what they were going for
BlackBolt3
Boy, if you didn't like it flat, you'll love the animation in the introduction video:http://youtu.be/v3s6fxIFTH0This might end up being one of my favorite Olympic identities.
bosrs1
Definitely not the worst. Lisa Simpson sucking some guy off in 2012 still takes that title by a wide margin. In fact this Tokyo one isn't half bad. Incorporates their rising sun, has the letter T in there for Tokyo. Obviously not the best looking Olympic logo, but I'd easily put it in the top half of summer logos.

Lucas718
Having just noticed that the Sydney 2000 logo is someone doing rhythmic gymnastics but could also be a kookaburra, I think that is my new favorite. I'm not getting the Tokyo one at all.

hawk36
Uh oh...Oh, wow, as a designer that gives me the cold sweats. The more minimal the design, the greater the chance something very similar already exists. I guess that may have been London's logo, make something that no one else would have. I hope for designers' sake everywhere they are forced to change the logo. And very hypocritical of the Olympics since they are one of the first to send cease and desists when anyone uses colored rings in a design.Wait, new logo for the theatre!? Midway
These olympic logos are a whole different animal. That said there's something about the unconventionalism that really works for me.
dgthree
I still don't get the bottom right corner.I feel the exact same way. The top half of the logo makes sense, but the bottom half has no obvious connection to anything related to the olympics or tokyo for me.

It'll never get down to Lisa Simpson bad, but this isn't good. Just what the Olympics with the giant labial stadium didn't need. The days of Sydney, Athens and Atlanta are long past I guess.
