The_Admiral
How's about the Flames pay for their arena and don't build an indoor CFL stadium? The CFL isn't worth that kind of money. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
monkeypower
It's the same people admiral and the Stamps current stadium is in worse shape than the Saddledome, if you can believe it.
The_Admiral
HOLY CRAP THAT IS WAY TOO MUCH EDIFICE FOR THE CFL. Don't you guys generally play in the equivalent to Division II college stadiums? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
monkeypower
Have you ever seen a CFL stadium before? It's not Div. II stuff.I know it's something some of you 'muricans like to scoff at, but the CFL isn't some rinky-dink league.Edit for anyone: Here's all the current CFL stadiums. The_Admiral
Yeah I know about BC Place and the SkyDome but these look like mid-majors at best. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

2001mark
CFL stadia are like expanded MLS stadia. That's fine, the age of wasted empty unused seating needs to be dead & buried. @2001mark
monkeypower
None of the CFL stadiums are Div. I or NFL sized, the biggest CFL stadium would be third last in the NFL, and they can't be that big. But it's not like these are played in an empty field with bleachers taken from the local high school. The Flames own the Stamps and they were looking to build new stadiums for both. JohnnyCowboy5
with Calgary new soccer stadium does anyone think they get a mls team?
monkeypower
I doubt it, Calgary isn't big into the soccer scene right now. Maybe if that CFL backed league pans out for a Canada wide league.
The Giant Pacific Octopus
Taxpayers are going to foot the bill. And if they don't well they'll move the team back to Atlanta. The Catch of the Day!

-kj
I do applaud the "fieldhouse" idea of the stadium. It's a surprisingly utilitarian design. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! Evil G
Tbh I like the idea of an NHL and a CFL team sharing a stadium (or stadiums, will this count as seperate stadiums?). The CFL part doesn't look amazing, however. Maybe it will look better irl. ICTknight
Doesn't really scream football atmosphere.Wow not many large football stadiums get built these days with tracks. And I'm guessing luxury seating is on the side that the picture doesn't show? Can't imagine they would build a stadium without that. Â Â

Though Calgary might now be able to corner both most winter & now summer Olympic training + trials.Or maybe the IAAF doesn't allow such indoor qualification & I don't know wtf I'm talking about. @2001mark
CubsFanBudMan
I'm guessing this place isn't as cool as it looks in the picture? Because why else have I never heard of it or seen a pic of it before?Especially since it houses *my* Baltimore CFL Colts.Perhaps all the praise is in French?
