Almighty
Nobody "deserves" to win the Cup. It's a team-earned award. If you're so worried about your personal performance, go for the Art Ross or Hart.So a player that shows heart, passion and emotion, and work hard in every game does not deserve to win a cup more than a player that just taggs along for the ride and lets his team´s superstars take care of business ?There are many examples out there, just one could be Marian Hossa, lost in the finals to detroit, next year tried to win with the same detroit team, luckily failed, then jumped to a stacked Hawks team, got several rings thanks to Kane and Toews and the rest of the stars......don't give a what anyone says, #8 deserves it more than a ring chaser and/or lazy player. Perseverance and determination are also qualities of a Stanley Cup winner. I have heart, passion and emotion for hockey, but that doesn't mean I deserve the Cup any more than the common man. If you can't work well enough as a team, then you don't deserve the award. You also just contradicted yourself, you said that "So a player that shows heart, passion and emotion, and work hard in every game does not deserve to win a cup more than a player that just taggs along for the ride and lets his team´s superstars take care of business ?" yet the example you brought up is the exact definition of "tagging along" based on your words. The_Admiral
Isles win a fun one over the Rangers...as Howie Rose said, why are these teams only playing four games against each other? It's ridiculous, right? It should be six games for your closest rivals, four for the rest of the division and conference, two games or one against the other conference's teams. In other words, more or less what it used to be before the Red Wings ruined the alignment and scheduling matrix for everyone. Anyway, the Hawks have improbably tied the Stars in points, though the Stars have two games in hand. There aren't a lot of good teams in the NHL this year, but at least the Hawks appear to be one of them again. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
cmm
Yeah, no offense to the Western Conference teams, but I'd be totally cool with seeing you guys in Brooklyn every other year if it meant more rivalry games.
The_Admiral
I'd go with an 84-game regular season and a four-game preseason, because no one cares about preseason and the regular season itself may as well be a preseason. 64 games in conference, 20 games out, playing five teams at home, five away, and five home and away. The Group C games there would be reserved for the Original Six, Canadian teams, and Final rematches if you can fit it. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Morgan33
The Caps won't be an easy out this year... I don't see a typical 'Caps Collapse' happening but I've been wrong before. It's finals or bust.

KittSmith_95
The Caps are the Blues of the East. No matter how much they retool, they won't get over the hump. It's not in the cards for Ovie to get a Cup.

Still MIGHTY
According to Bob McKenzie, John Scott was asked by both the NHL and Coyotes to bow out of the ASG. He said no, and that's where his inclusion in this trade comes from. It doesn't sound like the Habs have any intention to use him and have already sent him to the AHL. If he isn't called up, he would be ineligible for the ASG. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |

The_Admiral
With three-on-three mini-games, the NHL made a fine mockery out of its exhibition weekend without our help. If everyone looooooves three-on-three so much, maybe now they can watch it with someone who actually belongs in this league. The only thing all of this accomplished was making some poor bastard have to live in Newfoundland. I hope you're happy. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I lost a lot of respect for the NHL today.
Sodboy13
John Scott's getting shipped off to the ass end of the continent while his wife is pregnant with twins because hockey fans wanted to do a fun thing with a meaningless exhibition game. This has got to be peak OITGDNHL until at least March or April.
