Gothamite
They're pretty common in soccer. In MLS, we have LA, Portland, NYCFC and I'm sure others doing it. Indy Eleven in the NASL are quite notable for theirs. If consider as antecedent these LA Rams program covers from 1961. Every week the program would feature artwork from Los Angeles Examiner cartoonist Karl Hubenthal riffing on the day's opponent. And my personal favorite: The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! ECUFan25
The Bengals do it, I know. I have 3 programs from the ’14 season ( Panthers, Colts preseason, and Jets). Here’s some cover art:
andycumbee19
^^^ That Rams script on the 49ers cover is awesome. That's all.
Gothamite
I had forgotten about the Bengals' programs - thanks. Pure genius. ^^^ That Rams script on the 49ers cover is awesome. That's all.Yeah, he was an amazing designer all around. Thing I love best about that Packers/Rams program is that it proudly predicts that the home team was going to get soundly beaten. Total lack of false bravado. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Sport
That's the only thing the Blue Jackets have done right this year. The Seattle Sounders held a poster designing contest for all of their home games this year. pcgd
I just can't believe the Blue Jackets did 40+ of these things. Impressive and they look awesome. I love game day posters. Gothamite was kind enough to mention the Indy Eleven ones, which you can see here:2014:https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.727244050716054.1073741864.319808064792990&type=32015 (this is not complete):https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.830544547052670.1073741877.319808064792990&type=3Here's the ones I did:

Bengals1fan
Personally as a Bengals fan, I dislike our covers. I get why we do it with the artist, but they just seem out dated. Gothamite
Oh, man. I'll trade you. The Packers can have your awesome cover cartoonist, and you can be stuck with our generic photo covers. habsfan1
If American teams had a Molson Cup Trophy to award each year, the Blue Jackets MVP would be the designer of these incredible posters no doubt about it.
