ARIZONA PREMIER LEAGUE:

Established November 24, 2015.

League consists of 10 teams spanning across 9 cities in the state. 2 teams will reside in Phoenix.

Throughout this series I will release, Team crests and uniforms.

All teams will have a Primary, Clash, and Alternate uniform. All Uniforms are Nike.

The League will play a 32 game season which will be simulated once the uniforms are completed.

There will be an all star game in which the uniforms will mirror the colors on the League Crest.

-Heres what I have for the League Crest so far. Will be modified to Black and White to be placed on the right Sleeve of each team. The stars, represent each city, and the crest mimics the AZ Flag. Im still working out a good typeface for the league and a solid word mark. But I really like the colors I chose. To me it represents a lot of the state with its vast geographical regions.

Nice crest logo you got there! As you mention that the league font is still in question, may I suggest the number font that the LA Angels and Texas Rangers use, perhaps? That font seems pretty suitable for such a Southwestern environment.

I look forward to this series! :)

Added the League Logo, Worldmark, and team locations and map. As for the comments about the stars. I really hate to not take any feedback on the crest and use it but from the current statw I actually like that it differentiates from the state flag a little just so its not completely the same.

I've never been a fan of mixing FC and SC in a league. Is there a rationale behind it?

Also, I wish you had a team in Navajo Nation, that would be so cool! Maybe Kayenta? You could probably get a cooler identity for that than for Casa Grande.

Oh true, forgot about Keyenta. Ive always loved passing through that town. Ill actually change that. and as for the FC/SC I just like both and hate using either one too much.

If you're gonna stick with that typeface for the league, then you've got to work on the kerning. Look at how much space there is between the E and the A in LEAGUE, and then look at how the L and the E butt right up against each other, maybe even overlapping a little bit. Sometimes, with type, it's not enough to just type the words; you've got to tweak the letters a little bit to really make it look good. If you're using Illustrator, set the kerning to Optical rather than Auto.

Also, I'd lose that hazy effect around the edges of the league logo that you added. It just muddies up the whole presentation and it's never going to look like that in any practical application.

And if you're going to be changing things along the way, I would rather you left your old versions up, and put new versions in subsequent posts. That way, we can see how the design is progressing and compare to previous versions rather than having to rely on memory.

Scott Town F.C:

The first team in the Inaugural season of the APL. The Scott Town team is located in Prescott, AZ. (One of my Favorite Cities).

The owner, Bob Dangle was the first to strike a deal with the APL therefore making the Scotts the first team in the APL. He was able to strike a cheap

deal for only $3.2 million to own the first team knowing the challenges of owning a small market team. The color he chose for the team were chosen to represent a fresh new league, as Prescott is known for its refreshing views and relaxed way of living. The crest, features accents and minor details from the Yavapai National Flag and has the Lone star at the top to signify "The First team".

I think this is a good start, I love the use of mint green. It's one of my favorite colors and I don't think it gets enough use in the sports world. Good pairing with blue too!

I do have one concern though with the crest. I see what you're going for with the pattern here, but I don't know if the blues will contrast well enough from a distance for that design to work. It looks good up close, but it begins to look more like one solid blue shield as you inch away from it. Maybe if the royal blue were just a bit lighter, it would contrast a little better.

Good start so far!

Final Crest Update for Scott Town F.C.:

Removed the stars, from the crest. Couldn't find a significant way to incorporate them into the crest.

Fixed the typing issue on Scott Town F.C. ! Have at it!

Uniforms coming soon, working with a few uniform templates at the moment but also trying to find another, anyone have any good suggestions?

While I understand Prescott's specific significance of the four stars, I think it's best that it's incorporated inside the crest somehow, maybe in the middle diamond band of checkers; stars around soccer crests usually signify championships, which isn't your intent for Prescott, seemingly.

Also, how would you address people who would think "Scott Town" would refer to Scottsdale instead of Prescott?
