infrared41 Posted November 25, 2015 Share Posted November 25, 2015 Week 11 was one of the weakest...ahem...weeks we've seen so far this season. We had some good looking match ups - including a bit of a surprise at the number one slot on the best list - one real disaster, and not a whole lot else. So place your bids and let's play our game. As always, your mileage may vary. Best:1. Chiefs - Chargers: Every once in a while, a match up comes along that makes it pretty easy for me to overlook all the things I don't like about the current Chargers uniforms. The blue alts in the San Diego sunshine against the Chiefs in all white is one of those match ups.2. Packers - Vikings: How much did I like KC - San Diego? So much that this match up between two top 5 uniforms only managed to take the #2 spot this week. I'll have to check with BrandMooreArt, but I think it's OK if I refer to the Vikings as modern uniform. Anyway, I think the Vikings are the perfect example of what a modern look should be. The Packers are still considered a traditional look, right? 3. Jets - Texans: I'd like this game more if the Jets had gone with all white, but the green pants work pretty well when matched up against the Texans home uniforms. The Texans are one of those rare teams that got their uniforms right on the first try. Great helmet too. 4. Washington - Carolina: Speaking of getting it right on the first try, the Panthers did a pretty good job out the gate too. When you get it right from the start, you only need to make a tweak here and there to stay "current." I'm probably in the minority, but I don't miss Washington's burgundy pants at all. The gold is so much better. 5. Bills - Patriots: I think this game would have looked even better if it had been played in natural light. Still a really good looking game. Worst:1. Titans - Jaguars: I was tempted to just post this... and move along to the #2 game on this list. Anyway, this game was almost as ugly as the first dose of "Color Rush" we were subjected to. That said, I think the Jags jerseys and pants work as separate uniform elements. The jersey would look pretty good with white pants. The pants would look pretty good with a black or white jersey. My BAFS/BASS cohost, Zach/Still MIGHTY described the Titans look perfectly when he referred to it as "pajamas." 2. Bengals - Cards: Until BrandMooreArt establishes something a little less cumbersome than "Reebok NFL era designs" as the proper terminology for this type of look, I'm going to refer to them as what they are - ugly. There's a lot to work with here. Both teams have great colors and great helmets. The problems are the ugly stripes, ugly piping, and pointless, ugly panels. Both teams could shoot right to the top of any best looking list by simply going back to the looks they had in the 80's. Black piping that's hardly visible (and thus completely unnecessary), white splotches that go nowhere, fad-taper stripe on the pants...and it looks dug out of a time capsule that was buried in 2005. They, Cincinnati, and Atlanta terribly need an update more than any other team in the league.On a different note, it's SO good to see Packers/Vikings as a top matchup once again. BrandMooreArt Posted November 25, 2015 Share Posted November 25, 2015 lol, yes the Vikings have a truely modern uniform that is in line with today's trends, rather than the tapered and "flowing" stripes of Reebok's design era (which i really like BTW) which no one uses anymore except in catalog orders. i don't have a better name for the Reebok era though - maybe someone can come up with a moniker? i think the list is pretty spot on this week. the top 2 games really stood out to me. if i have to pick a favorite, ill go with GB/MIN just because purple/yellow/green is a rarer matchup than blue/red. kudos to SD for that field design though. Not everyone is a "troller" who doesn't lap up what you dish out.If you can give your tired takes every week, then others should be able to give theirs as well.And to me, there is very little wrong with the Cardinals HOME uniforms. Its a very clean and "non-threatening" modern uniform. The white uniform needs work. The cardinal uniform is solid and always has been.They are much better then the drab crap they used to wear. The difference is you're the only one who goes out of his way to be an ass about it. I respect opinions that differer from my own. I have no patience for people who are just looking to cause trouble. Usually, you just call people idiots and move on. You actually contributed to the conversation this week. C-Squared Posted November 30, 2015 Share Posted November 30, 2015 I would love a Cardinals uni that follows suit with Minnesota - a simple, solid-color uniform with team(or even region)-inspired accents to the striping and text... the helmet is fine the way it is IMO, right down to the grey facemask.
