FirearmofMutiny
What are some logos in sports that were good but became synonymous with losing teams? First example: the original Minnesota Timberwolves logo.
rxmc89
It's a shame that the Kings' most beautiful uniforms are associated with some of the worst years in team history, while the most successful years are associated with the blandest uniforms. Dynasty
It pains me to post this as it's one of my favorite logos of all time, but it's mostly affiliated with mediocrity.

ConcreteCharlie
I like this logo, but it represents the worst years in Tiger history along with Bobby Higginson and the rest of those cheap-shotting scumbags
BrianLion
^ Tigers only actually wore that logo on the field for 3 years from like 95-97, (even though it's still technically an alt team logo to this day). It was long gone from the field before the awful 2003 season. I always associate it more with Cecil Fielder

The first association with that logo is The Perfect Season. For me a great logo ruined by a bad team is the Mariners' first logo,This logo remains the best one that this team has ever had. The S-compass logo is pretty good. The trident M is spectacular.

Even still, that later logo would really count just as a tweek of or a cleaning-up of the classic one, wouldn't it? I have to think that, to any non-uniform nerd (and even to some uniform nerds), the later logo still invokes The Perfect Season.
Jungle Jim
Oh, I doubt that most people outside of this site realize that the logo changed at all between 1966 and 2013. I was totally unaware of the 1997 change until after I joined this site in 2004.
SFGiants58
I gotta go with this:While I like their current look more, as well as the royal/yellow color scheme, this really was a great identity. It's a pity that the Warriors did so little while wearing it. MLB: Project 32 (Complete), MLB: The Defunct Saga (Complete)

One of the great things about this site is how it does make more casual uniform/logo junkies more aware of subtle changes throughout logo history. I've always been into uniforms and logos but this site has taught me so much more. Its a beautiful thing.

BrianLion
^ The classic "A" is a great logo. That roundel is "meh" and has been since the 80's when they got rid of the baseball behind the A
FirearmofMutiny
Until "the process" bears fruit, I think we can put the current 76ers rebrand in this category too.

It's a pity that the Warriors did so little while wearing it.I think this is definitely a great example. I don't know if winning would've kept it around, but I do wish it wasn't associated with losing. I really did like that look a lot. It's funny, it seems the NBA had quite a few of these. The pre-LeBron early 2000's Cavaliers come to mind (more uniforms than logo), as well as the teal Grizzlies (Vancouver and Memphis) and 90's Nuggets. All good looks that got a much worse reception than they deserved due to some awful teams wearing them.If it weren't for a some playoff teams in the mid-late 2000's, I'd have put the 90's-00's Wizards up there, too. 2001mark
Yeah, I know they were born together... still valid for me. Those were nice hockey logos.I'll also nominate the Cleveland Indians Chief Wahoo... while obviously racist, there was great attitude with that logo. @2001mark
