Redesigning My High School's Basketball Team (Norton HS)

I currently attend Norton High School, the public high school in my hometown of Norton, MA. They have a fairly good athletics program as they've won 10 state championships over the last 10 years in many sports. Most recently the soccer team, which won the D3 state title last weekend. The school's teams compete in the 3rd Division of the MIAA. The basketball program has been very good over the last decade. They have made the playoffs 8 years in a row and last year they went to the sectional finals for the 1st time since 1989. Although the team has been very good, their jerseys have looked okay at best. Here is their current home jersey for reference (pictured in white). The away jersey is just a recolored version of the home jersey with the purple and white being flipped, and a "NORTON" word mark across the front.

So without further ado here is my rendition of their uniforms! A big thanks goes out to Raysox for the amazing template and Conrad for the excellent fonts.

The first thing off the bat I wanted to change up was the script. The current word mark in my opinion is too modern to use on a simple basketball jersey. I used a simple block font for the scripts which go along nicely with the design and numbers. The home jersey features the "LANCERS" word mark on a white jersey. For the primary set I used the Golden State Warriors current jersey as the inspiration. It has 2 stripes running down each side of the jersey with a purple neck and cuffs. The shorts continue on the stripes on each side along with the Nike and MIAA logo on. The away jersey is a recolored version of the home jersey with the purple and white being flipped. It also features the "NORTON" script in black with a white outline. The pants are also the same as away, the only difference is the purple and white are flipped. Then there is the alternate jersey. I wanted something different from the set, and something that would stand out. So I gave them a purple pinstriped alternate jersey. It features a white jerseys with purple pinstripes on the front and back. It features the "NORTON" word mark in purple, black, and white. The shorts have a single stripe going down the side with a purple waistband.

As something I love doing with any of my concepts I also made a new version of their home court, Lawrence Laraque Gymnasium. At center court it has their current logo. It features their Twitter handle, @NHSAthletics on one side of the court and a hashtag I made up for the team #lancernation on the other side. It has "NORTON" and "LANCERS" on the opposite baselines.
Enjoy and C+C is appreciated as always!

Overall it looks great, the road script needs to be flipped to white with black outlines, but the court is amazing. The only issue is that for a high school team, the pinstripe jersey is illegal. As a high school basketball coach myself, and our team's equipment guy, I know the rulebook on unis, and the stripes kill it. It's a shame because that pinstripe set is nice!

Thank you for the kind words! The reasoning behind the road script is that I tried it with white letters and black outlines, but the black outline got lost in the jersey and it became hard to read the outline. One question I do have is why is the pinstripe jersey illegal? I admit that I never have seen a high school team with them, but I did not know it was illegal.
