Also, I don't love that each unit has a different illustration. The word "uniform" indicates "same" and I think all the players should have the same helmet design. Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse." Clintau24 Posted December 2, 2015 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Maryland wore hand painted helmets a year or two ago. I think the new renditions of the helmets are wrapped or dipped or something. But I'd be shocked if these aren't truly hand painted. With the typically cold temps, these things will chip and scratch like crazy during the game. Their website lists 179 players and I'm sure some aren't suiting up but......how could they manage to get them all exactly the same? WavePunter Posted December 12, 2015 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Easy to do with a basic pattern, but I'm not sure these are dipped for the specific image with certain orientation, etc.. There is another method that is used, similar to dipping, but just heating the printed vinyl and stretching it onto he helmet..
