crashcarson15
They can expand Toyota to 18,000. They built it for easy expansion. That's why I think they'll have to take a year off before entering the league if they get picked. The Spurs basically have 6 years to get a team in or they pay the city on a sliding scale.Nah, they’ll probably be able to expand and keep playing. IIRC, it was a three-stage process — they can probably construct Stages II and III during successive seasons while USL play continues, I’d imagine.San Antonio and Sacramento look like they’ll both be in at this point. Gothamite
NYCFC President Tom Glick is leaving to go back to City Football Group in England. He's replaced with the former head of the Tribeca Film Festival's parent company. http://www.nycfc.com/post/2016/01/06/jon-patricof-named-new-president-new-york-city-fcI think this is a great move. Patricof isn't a CFG staffer, he's part of the NYC business and artisitic community. If the stadium search has now claimed its second victim, as I believe it has, Patricof seems perfectly positioned to actually get something done. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! They're in a tight space due to Morgan's Wonderland sitting immediately behind the stadium, Heroes Stadium sitting right across the street and the soccer complex/training ground right across the parking lot too. The artists conception photos omit a lot of obstructions.
MJWalker45
Just saw USL took over Rochester after kicking the owners out of the league. The league is running the team for now.

bosrs1
Indeed.Even if by "downtown San Francisco" they actually mean "within the city limits of", that's a very small slice of a large metro area. Is there any room left in the Candlestick Point development plans? Maybe the pier that the Warriors originally intended to build on?The Nimby's don't want anything on that pier. If the Warriors couldn't get it done there's no way in hell a minor league soccer outfit will be able to. Candlestick's development is already set. Not sure where an NASL team will build in SF but it won't be anywhere appealing that's for sure. Not if they want to do it on an NASL budget. DG_ThenNowForever
LAFC Crest LeakThat's pretty slick, though it seems to borrow from Atlanta's color scheme and Minnesota's logo. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
Brian in Boston
Well, it is now official...Also newly official is the fact that Will Ferrell has apparently joined the ownership group. So, to paraphrase Reese Bobby, "If you ain't first, you're last, LAFC!"
FiddySicks
Also newly official is the fact that Will Ferrell has apparently joined the ownership group. Oh that's exactly what a league like the MLS, which is trying to gain legitimacy among other leagues around the world, needs. I really hope he takes this at least somewhat seriously. Or he's just a face like Magic Johnson. Kinda hope he's fireable, though. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) gosioux76
It looks like there's some discussion as to whether Minnesota United will be able to keep the "United" name with D.C. and Atlanta also using that title. Here's a few links to the discussion: Here, here and here. I see no reason why an already established brand should be forced to change. I hope it's much ado about nothing. That doesn't include any lower level club either. This should not be an issue at all.
Gothamite
I don't see any reason why they should change, either. What's really interesting to me is that there's word the colors and logo are approved, which would be a change. Every other team has adopted a new or revised logo when they joined MLS. Every other team has adopted a new or revised logo when they joined MLS.I'm not sure there's been another example of a club whose logo was already of top-flight quality before joining MLS. Portland, Montreal and Orlando all needed upgrades. Minnesota -- at least in my opinion -- is ready to go. Same with Sacramento, if they ever get in. Gothamite
I'll see you Seattle and Orlando, but Portland's new logo was a clear downgrade. To the point where they immediately had to start making improvements to it.It was reported at the time that the Timbers had changed logos because the league demanded it. There wasn't any transfer of copyright, instead it was something the league could own from the start. If that's no longer the case, I'd be very interested. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Minnesota and Sacramento do. The Timbers logo certainly isn't the best of the bunch, but the results don't change the fact that they needed an upgrade from their USL identity. gosioux76
On an unrelated note, the Timbers released a mini-documentary on their run to the MLS Cup. The club not only made it free to watch online, but is allowing fans to download it as a free keepsake. Here's the link if you're interested. I'd take their precious logo over the new one any day. But the point was that MLS required them to change it. Not because it wasn't worthy, but because league policy at the time required them to originate the design. If that's no longer true, then it's newsworthy. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! pcgd
The way one off decisions are treated as gospel around here is always humorous to me. Especially for a league that bends their player acquisition rules on a yearly basis.
