The Browns need to be shuttered again and ne'er again be revived.

Tom Coughlin's farewell was weird. Touching, but weird. Like Jim Tomsula looking through the glass longingly at a buffet.

Coughlin threw some shade at Giants ownership afterward, too. Just walked by Mara and didn't give a good god damn.

Browns hired Paul DePodesta away from the Mets.

Yes this happened. and now a lawyer and baseball executive are running the team.

Jesus. He wasn't even good at managing a baseball team!

I agree, fold the Browns. They're a waste of valuable oxygen and crowd the majestic Lake Erie shoreline.

^LOL. It reminds me of a scene in Naked Gun 2 1/2.

Robert Goulet: What are you doing out here? The party's inside.

Priscilla Presley: I was just getting a breath of fresh air.

Goulet *looks at overflowing dumpster right behind her*

Presley: I grew up on Lake Erie. There's nothing quite like it.

Well, despite all the rumors, speculation and innuendo linking him to the Giants, 49ers, and Dolphins (including Cowboys owner Jerry Jones flying into New Orleans yesterday), Sean Payton is going nowhere and staying as coach of the New Orleans Saints.

It is what it is.

Philadelphia's new mayor said today that a couple years ago when he was a city councilman he ran in to Chip Kelly at a market the day after a game (an Eagles win) and he made eye contact with him and said "great game yesterday, coach" and Kelly just put his head down and walked right by him. Said Kelly is a weirdo which pretty much matches everything said by everyone ever.

In other news, someone set up a live webcam outside of Kelly's house and it showed moving vans there last night. Apparently some people came out to cheer the movers.

Haha, looks like the 49ers "short list" just got a bit shorter.

Awesome. Chip Kelly sounds like a total douchelord of a human being.

Yeah I'm not hearing much positive. And the negative isn't just post-firing piling on. He definitely seemed cordial and outgoing when he first came in, but then again we were so fed up with Andy Reid's refusal to answer questions that anyone would have been a breath of fresh air.

Look I feel for people like him that have trouble connecting, and it says a lot about how hard he works and/or how bright he is that he was able to rise to the level he did without having basic interpersonal skills, but really how could an owner trust his franchise to a guy who was almost universally rejected by his players, some of whom are still bitter toward him? He's in his 50s, so I'm not sure if he's really going to be able to change who he is, so I would really be worried if I was a fan of another team that hired him. I can see another great initial season, followed by the eventual dumpster fire.

Chip Kelly definitely seems like he's got the type of personality that fits better on the west coast. He's kind of weird and disconnected, and that worked pretty much perfectly in Eugene. He'd never take a demotion, but he'd probably fit pretty well on the Seahawks staff.

It's not the coast since he is from New Hampshire and didn't head west until '07. Sure seemed comfortable there and not around many adult men of color.

No, I understand that. I'm just saying he seems to fit in better in places with less intense atmospheres than Philadelphia. I guess that could be said for a lot of people, but the PNW is kinda known for being a bit weird and disconnected.

His problems were with his own players and team management moreso than the media (until this season and the eventual near melt downs near the end where he swore he wasn't the GM and it wasn't his idea.). He'd have problems relating to his players regardless of coast. It's one thing when it's 18 years olds playing for a scholarship and they're in awe of you, it's another thing when it's "adults" with tons of money that don't need to put up with you.

Eagles were interested in Koetter. Bucs would rather fire Lovie and upgrade him to head coach than lose him.
