First time since 2004 that the #1 overall pick has been traded (the infamous Eli Manning trade from the Chargers).  Don't you feel old now?

And if I'm a Browns fan, I'm livid.  LA basically paid a king's ransom to spite you.

edit:  Not sure what he's implying here

Forgive me for not having research on this but could this potentially be the first ever FCS #1 pick?

Ed Jones, who went to Tennessee State, was picked in the 1974 NFL Draft by the Cowboys. Actually, that was the first time the Cowboys ever had the #1 overall pick.

Tennessee State was D-2 at the time.

The only team this really hurts is the Browns. Instead of having their pick between Goff and Wentz, they'll be stuck with Wentz.

I should be mad, but honestly they will have the #1 pick next year. They can just take the best QB in the 2017 class to replace Wentz.

This also impacts the Cowboys at #4 since not only did they bring Wentz in, their coaching staff worked with him during the Senior Bowl.

As for the Rams, they don't have a 2nd or  3rd round pick. Yikes! You cannot build  a team in that manner. They had 4 of the first 76 picks, now they have the #1 overall and nothing until #113.

Whoops, I got FCS and Division ll mixed up. If that is the case, then I somewhat hope the Rams take Wentz, just for history's sake.

Jeff Fischer said that the deal was completed yesterday but he "didn't want to take away from Mamba Day." What bull :censored:. Announce the trade. Kobe Bryant is one :censored:ing person. He doesn't deserve one day where he gets all the attention of the world.

He does when he shares the media market. What did it hurt (other than your feelings) to hold back the announcement a few hours?

I bet the Niners sure are pissed about the trade, though. This kinda ruins their barely thought through "plans".

I'm pretty thrilled about it.  According to John Clayton, it probably takes the Kaepernick deal off of the table and gives the Broncos a more realistic shot at drafting Paxton Lynch.

LA better get that pick right because they don't pick again until the fourth round.

What a trade for the Titans.  They now have six picks inside the first 76 of this year's draft.

Take note, Cleveland: THAT is how you rebuild a team.

(that and drafting a quarterback that is actually good)

Well, it also puts Laremy Tunsil into play now.  If the Browns are serious about "new era, new way", they take Tunsil at #2.  A better offensive line will make your QB better.

A little surprised Tennessee passed up a chance to get who's regarded as a premier O-line talent as a 10-year option to protect Mariota, but when you get six picks in the top 80, very hard to turn that down.  The Titans can speed up their building process.

As for the Rams, don't miss on this.  You, of all teams, know how this bold move can backfire.
