The new name is a downgrade. And the new look is a lateral move.

Best name and look was when it was know as Storm before Pepsi went with Sierra Mist.

Slice Lemon-Lime was never national for the majority its time in the marketplace. It was only know to those of a certain age as a soda which you saw when on vacation.

Slice Lemon-Lime was never national for the majority its time in the marketplace. It was only know to those of a certain age as a soda which you saw when on vacation.

Slice was part of the regular drink lineup at Subway restaurants in the 90s.

I had no idea this was meant to replace Slice. I drank that all the time as a kid (but only could get it when I went on vacation to my local grocery store). I've been avoiding it now because Sierra Mist is a dumb name. This new name is just as bad as Pibb Xtra.

I believe Slice was its own company when it first hit the market, then expanded into multiple flavors like Grape, Cherry Cola, Orange, and Strawberry. But Lemon-Lime was the core product, and eventually got bought up by Pepsi.

Maybe Pepsi thought the Slice name was too connected to multiple flavors, so it eliminated them all to specifically market it as its version of Sprite. Don't know.

But "Mist Twst" is just, well, stupid.
