Unfortunately I don't have a date yet for when the first article in the series will be released. I'm lucky if I get 48 hours of notification before its actually published myself, but it has been submitted and I've already had some back and forth banter with the editor about it. Thus far I've been consistently blown away by the quality of the questions that both he and some of the other people I've shown this to have asked and when the audience you're trying to reach is asking the type of questions you hope they would ask without guidance, that's when you know you've done your job as an author. Color me interested. Any way you can provide a small tease (at least as to subject matter, if not actual content)? Read he had a cervical fusion so his pending retirement is not surprising due to physical limitations and a long recovery period. Interesting tidbit Prince is retiring with 319 career homers. A little before mine to, but its not going to be a case study on 19th century baseball if that's what anyone is worried about. Honestly that was going to be my next project until I saw that Tank was doing the same thing on his site and I just gave up. I just felt like there was no way I could ever hope to compete with that. As much as he wants to keep playing, there's really no hope for him to ever get the medical clearance to do so. I don't often feel too bad for pro baseball players because they play a kids game for millions of dollars (hundreds of millions of dollars in Fielder's case), but the press conference he had today was pretty gut wrenching. Since he's released from the Yankees, a team could sign him for the minimum and he'd still get paid. Can't imagine he'll be able to resist. I don't blame him for coming back - just saying that I wouldn't go out of my way to see his "final game", because I highly doubt it's really his "final game". I'm not advocating adding the stats together, but what he did there is still tough (nobody has really had a better career there in a similar amount of time) so for him to dominate there, then come over here and not skip a beat makes it reasonable to assume that he could have had 4,300 hits had he played his full prime in MLB (7 full "good" seasons in Japan, project around 200 hits per in MLB.)
