Because they came back from 3-1 wearing those unis. That jersey and its colors, despite the hatred you guys give it, will most likely be remembered as a symbol of the end of the 52 year drought.

Yeah, why oh why did the Warriors have to choke.

Oh yeah, and Lebron´s bitching got Green suspended.

I think the Cavaliers should stick with just two colors:  crimson wine and gold.  Because they are the original colors.  I will never understand why they chose navy as a third color in the first place.  And my opinion with the black sleeved jerseys, I will keep this to myself because I do not want to be banned from this board.  But you will get the idea on how I feel about the "sleeved" jerseys (even though they did comeback from 3-1 down to win the NBA title wearing them).

I like the Cavs black uniforms alot and I don't really have a problem with the court. Although, I think their white, gold, and wine uniforms are some of my favs in the league.

The black (or navy) could look really cool but I'm not a fan of the outlined text and some of the other graphic choices on the court.

Because cleveland is such a "blue collered" city

I'm almost certain that the only real reason they threw navy into their color scheme was to sell more jerseys.  For a while I thought they might have done it to look more like the Indians (one of those "unified colors for a city's teams" types of things that some cities try to do).  But they added navy in 2003, which was pretty much the right at the end of the BFBS era (which, incidentally, the Cavs joined in on also) and right at the beginning of the mid 2000s era when some other teams started to use, add, or more strongly emphasize navy in their color schemes (ATL, UTAH, OKC, MEM).

Navy is just a very safe and boring color that doesn't really "offend," and I'm guessing that's why it sells well and therefore why many teams use it.

I especially dislike the Cavs navy "CAVS" alt.  I may go so far as to say that other than the sleeves, I actually like the Cavs' black alt more than their navy.  I think the navy dilutes their identity and makes them look like "just another team."  They could easily own wine and gold if they wanted to.

So, I am totally with you on the idea of them only using wine and gold.  However, and I can't believe I am saying this, but I think I would be okay with them having a black alt as long as it was sleeveless and they severely restricted how often they wore it.  They entirely need to get rid of the navy, though.

Gotta disagree with the praise on the Warriors "stretch" alt -- mixing Copperplate and that 90s-tastic psuedo-Western wordmark is a typeface nightmare.

Yeah, that's not a good look.

I don't mind the Cavaliers navy alternate, but if they want to have the jersey, do it the right way.  Do not add three colors into that jersey, and never use a darker color (for instance the dark wine color) for the numerals.  Make it a navy jersey with gold numerals and maybe a small wine outline in their numerals, or the better choice, no outline trim at all. The current navy jersey with all the secondary and teritary colors stick out like a sore thumb, and probably needs to do some overhaul to make it a better "alternate" jersey.

It was in 2011. The use of the late 90's colors had me thinking a throwback was on the horizon but it never did happen.

What he said.

Almost every year since  2008-2009 the Cavaliers would do a "Cavfanatic" jersey which is similar to what teams are doing as stretch unis (Golden State's RUN TMC hybrid perfect example).

They take a retro uni and splice it with something current (colors, tweak the design). They stopped right after LeBron left for Miami.

Sorry if I missed it earlier, but the Rockets have changed their court design. The key and out of bounds areas are now painted red. The lane marks are black instead of white which may be a sign that black will be a more prominent feature of the rockets look going forward. They also removed the full team logo from the 3-point area as well as did away with the 2-tone wood stain

It's so weird to see someone say this and simply mean "that item is something that looks bad" and not, you know, "nyeeerrg, bad optics"

Hot take: black, wine and gold is not a terrible scheme.

ASU's current football uniforms basically demonstrate that.

Pick one of black or navy. it doesn't really matter pick which one. But they can have 1 out of the 2, not both.

After seeing the new Cavs' court in action, I can say I like it and it's much better than the old one. The sublimated sword is not prominent enough, though.

The sword is hardly visible. I hope that's just because of the angle.
