The 1950-51 season should be up anytime soon, I can tell you that this season was a little rushed and poorly simulated (I have a tendency of rushing things) but I will switch to another simulating process the following season.

The Rhinelander look to me seems like the Nets of today. Also, having spent some time in the Northwoods if you were going to put a team somewhere seems like Minocqua would make more sense since it's already a tourist trap and the casino.

If you look very closely at the top of the Columbus Capitals logo, you can see the Ohio state flag; if you look even closer, you can see that it has 17 stars on it.  Why?  Because Ohio became the 17th State in the Union on March 1st, 1803.

Hey guys. Sorry that I left this topic inactive for one month, but yes, I do plan on uploading the 1950-51 season, but I don't know if I'm going to continue the ABL, so I'll see you later.

Ok, this time it's for real. I'm back and I'm really sorry I left you guys hanging, but after a long wait, here's the 1950-51 Season!

Standings

Western Division

y - Milwaukee Stags

x - Chicago Redshirts

x - Grand Rapids Rivermen

x - Rhinelander Rhinos

Indianapolis Checkers

Eastern Division

y - Columbus Capitals

x - Detroit Lakers

x - Akron Bobcats

x - Cleveland Bulldogs

Cincinnati Blues

Key: y - clinched division title

x - clinched playoffs

Note: I will not do record standings, because it's hard to simulate 60 to 70 some games for a fictional basketball league. I recommend doing it my way. Next will be the playoffs!

Yay, it's back! This is the exact problem when I attempted a North American Basketball League (with the Cleveland Bulldogs as well), it was just too hard to simulate a 60-game season. I might revive it, but I need to think about the NBA alternate universe first.

Also, an announcement. In the 1952-53 season, the ABL will expand by 4 teams and will relocate 2 exsisting teams. You can help out by joining the ABL Expansion and Relocation Council. The council will start in the 1951-52 offseason.

Cool thread. I'm happy to see it revived, and I would be interested in joining the council next offseason.

I guess so, I really like backstories myself.

Is there any guidelines to the Backstories themselves? I can make a backstory for this as well.

I don't really think so, but I'm not experienced in the expansion council idea, so I don't know about what these "guidelines" are.

Typically (I've been on Hawkfans and Veras' Expansion Councils) Character shouldn't show any particular Bias to a particular location

For example, if there is a bid from say...Boston, a Boston Area Media writer may get on the council but he shouldn't show overwhelming Bias to a Boston area bid.

I see. I guess that would be one of the guidelines.

Ok then, I was working on my backstory (Eric Crosby, as a former player/owner of the Orlando Oranges), but now I'm redoing it because it shows large bias to Orlando. Oh well..

That's okay, That would  be bad only if Orlando was an expansion/Relocation option.
