Adam Silver is actually one of the best commissioners, he forced a racist out of ownership. No other commissioner can say that and the addition of ads while being an annoyance to people like us it has very little impact on the game itself. Eventually we won't notice anymore. It will be like a stadium naming rights, or a jersey manufacturer logo, or sponsor logos on the boards in the Nhl. Eventually we won't even think about it goodel is often caught between a rock and a hard place... He wants to protect the shield but then puts his foot in his mouth and makes odd, inconsistent discipline decisions. But no one can say he hurts the game financially or the integrity of the sport. Bettman is a Disgrace--- 3 extended lockouts over his tenure. What else do u need to say. Hockey was huge.. HUGE... In the mid 90s. Gretzky was in LA, Rangers were winning. Mighty ducks movies were big. Kids were playing hockey. The sports was legitamatly growing as a true Big 4. Now look at it... They lost their ESPN deal... Their NBC deal is a joke. There needs to be a source in your post to confirm this. But you're right. As long as he continues to keep the jerseys ad free, he shouldn't get booed anymore. Does it it make a 3 pointer now a 4 pointer? Nope. All it does is as a patch to a jersey and introduces another revenue stream into the game which last I checked was a good thing. When the players received over 70% of revenue, something had to be done. People would rather hate a goofy looking dude instead of their local greedy sports hero! He's a scumbag who brought us jersey ads and wants to raise the NBA age limit to continue the scam that is college sports. F him. Hockey was not "HUGE" in the mid 90s. It was #4 and always has been #4. If the home team is presented with the cup, the booing and screaming is not that bad, but if the away team has won, the fans frustration gets taken out on bettman, with ear deafening boos and chants that ruin the conn smythe & cup presentation.
