Newsflash, genius, people get excited when their team makes the World Series. Period. Same thing happened here in 1995 or in Arlington, Texas in 2010-11 or in Detroit in both '84 and '06. I could go on, but I think you get the point. Add in the fact that it's the first time this particular team has been to the World Series since 1948 and of course people are coming out of the woodwork. There's nothing new going on here. Why fans of other teams have to jump in with their idiotic "hate" of two teams they gave exactly zero s about three weeks ago is beyond me. I think the hate is coming from a place of people already saw the signs that led to the Red Sox fans being insuffrable (they always were, other people just didn't realize that), St. Louis calling itself the mecca of baseball, and the Giants thinking they'd win every two years for eternity. They don't wanna see the Cubs go the same way, but are expecting it now, and pre-emptively starting the hate in a self-fulfilling prophecy.
