The Cavs had black as one of their primary colors way before they beat GS. ahhhhh the 90's

Ah, but it did not feature sleeves, nor any questionable use of dark blue with the black, and it featured proper basketball lettering rather than a hockey crest.

The Cavs have had several nice uniforms (in a few different color schemes) over the years. The alternate they wore when they completed the league’s greatest playoff comeback is not one of them, and had they simply stuck to their classic home/road for the playoffs, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. We could simply appreciate the fact that the Cavs looked decent and respectable, if a little boring, when they hoisted the gold basketball.

The LockerVision site now has the uniform matchups for all first round playoff series (including games 5-7 for each series):

https://lockervision.nba.com/

Here’s the Game 1 matchups for each series:

Today, April 14th:

Philadelphia (City) vs. Miami (Icon)

Golden State (Association) vs. San Antonio (Icon)

Portland (Association) vs. New Orleans (Icon)

Oddly, they don’t show the Game 1 matchup for Toronto/Washington but it’ll likely be Toronto in white vs. Washington in navy.

Tomorrow, April 15th:

OKC (Association) vs. Utah (Icon)

Houston (Statement) vs. Minnesota (City)

Cleveland (Statement) vs. Indiana (Statement)

Boston (Association) vs. Milwaukee (Statement)

Also, the Spurs look to (finally) be somewhat embracing the fiesta colors again, as their Playoff warmup shirts feature them, and they got noted sneaker customizer Jake Danklefs to create special fiesta-themed kicks for all of the players for today’s game:

Thank God there are not many white away teams, at least in the playoffs.

Looks like the 76ers liberty bell logo on the court itself was modified with that snake aka “Join or Die”

I like that all 4 of yesterday’s games featured the traditional road color vs. home white uniform standard. Wondering if the postseason is out of Nike’s control for uniform assignments.

The Sixers wore the city jerseys

I know. My point is that they wore a lighter color at home. It’s a hell of a lot closer to the traditional home whites than those blues they’ve worn at home throughout the regular season.

The Timberwolves-Rockets game that going on has the Wolves City Unis vs the Rockets Statement Unis. So that means everyone’s favorite 2000’s/2010’s trends, BFBS and GFGS are back!

Honestly, I'm surprised we haven't gotten to the point with NBA jerseys were every team doesn't have a special Playoff Edition ...

Good question. Probably both. But, the Pacers are set to wear their gold statement jerseys for every game of the first round.

It's disgusting the Cavs aren't wearing their white jersey in any game of the first round.

The LockerVision site ended up having the wrong uniform matchup for tonight’s Game 2 between the Sixers and Heat, as Miami wore their red alts:

As of now, the LockerVision site doesn’t even show Game 2 of this series anymore, presumably to update it to reflect the correct uniform matchup.

The LockerVision site did have the correct matchup for Warriors/Spurs, though. And even though the Warriors are wearing their “The Town” alts, they didn’t swap out the center court logo to match.

The T-Wolves' colors are blue and lime green. The Rockets are bold red and white.

So of course, we have a match-up completely devoid of color. Plus those grey Wolves jerseys are terrible.

Thats exactly what I was thinking while watching highlights. So frustrating sometimes.

But still better than Adidas.

I spoke too soon. Nike, the NBA, or a combination of both couldn't go more than 24 hours without screwing up what would've been some good uniform matchups.

While I like some of the sets Nike has ushered in (Chicago's City Edition is simply amazing), I still miss pre-sleeve Adidas.
