Cardiff City home and away:

Seems like they sloppily photoshopped a generic font for the sponsor logo, so I wonder if it'll actually appear like that or not. It usually looks like this:

The way Cardiff markets itself continues to baffle me. What a blunder.

^Yeah, the Bayern logo tweaks are pretty insignificant. Without the side by side comparison, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't be able to tell the differences. As far as the Chelsea shirt goes, I'm not sure why they went with the darker blue. I actually like the idea of having all of the trim elements the same color as the shirt, but it just doesn't look quite right with the darker shade.

The Chelsea kit,now... awful. This is not even the correct blue!

in the second picture it appears to just be lighting making it look almost navy, the first pic looks a lot closer to what the color should be but even then I believe the lighting is affecting that color too.

The Chelsea kit looks like their normal blue to me ?

It's slightly darker. I believe it's the same shade of blue that the NY Giants use, which is a darker royal blue than the one traditionally used by Chelsea. It's not a huge difference, but I'd say it's more of an in-between shade between royal and navy than the one used by Adidas in recent years.

One of the launch images for the new Arsenal home kit has leaked:

Bleh.

I know I should have something more constructive to add, but if Puma didn't put any effort into these kits then why should I?

Southampton home, away, and keeper kits officially released:

Also, a closer look at the green keeper kit since it's the one being sold and since we haven't previously seen it:

As I said when they first leaked, I think both the home and away kits are really lovely efforts. It's a shame they both feature that extremely awkward collar on the shirts, and I hate that the sponsor logo is so intrusive on the home, but I don't think either issue is enough to diminish the overall quality too much. I especially love the socks for both kits, and I think they do a really nice job of complementing the shirts.

I much prefer the hooped red and white socks but these are ok. I agree about the collar though - I really don't like the way the red and white are just inverted like that. I looks so amateurish. Both kits are an improvement over last season's though, so it's a slight positive.

Also why does UA need to border everything off white a colour bar - last season it was the black trim on the sleeves and now it's the red cuff on the shorts. They seems to overdesign everything and add elements where they're not needed.

I'm Danny fkn Heatley, I play for myself. That's what fkn all stars do.

I haven't liked any of the Puma kits, and can't wait until the contract is up, but it's not that they don't put any effort into them.

Puma puts plenty of effort into its kits.  Even if we don't like the result

More shots of the Bayern away kit, including the first look at the socks:

This might be my favorite Adidas kit for the upcoming season. There have been some really nice ones already leaked and/or released, including the ACM home and the Juve home and away, but this one tops them all IMO. Seeing that the socks have the same stripe as the shirt just makes the kit that much better.

You're right of course. My frustration is that I've been waiting to return to true white sleeves since Puma took over, and because every one of Puma's templates have always connected to the collar, they just paint fill their latest template into "Eh, that's close enough for Arsenal" range.

It was fine and understandable for the first year or two of the Puma contract (and I'm not opposed to mixing things up like Barca does), but now that Puma is scrambling to differentiate their kits from their past 3-4 offerings, they never make the obvious change. Last year was "What if we did a sash/stripe on the front?" and this year is "What if we did a slightly darker red and have a collar?" while the obvious answer is to actually make a true Arsenal shirt for once.

And yes, they might need to modify a template to actually make it work, but when you're Puma's flagship team, they can work with or around your needs.
