JCRGraphix
They did, but they traded him back for Johan Garpenlov, Andrei Nikolishin, and a second round draft pick. Roenick butted heads with everybody in the locker room, especially Roy, so Les Quebecois were happy to be rid of him.

JCRGraphix
Before we get into the 1994-95 season, let's take a look at the expansion teams. Up first are the Nizhny Novgorod Comets. They began play in 1994 wearing these uniforms: In 1999, they added a black alternate: In 2006, the numbers on the red uniform were changed to white to make them more legible:
JCRGraphix
Up next is the other expansion franchise of 1994, the St. Louis Clydesdales. They had a popular classic look that resonated with the fans in 1994: In 1999, an alternate was added. It wasn't very popular, but it lasted for a few seasons: In 2003, the alternate was dropped: In 2009, the Clydesdales tried again with an alternate, and the fans approved: In 2012, the alternate was promoted to full-time use:
New York's Greatest
St.Louis looks great! And everything seems perfect with Niznhy Novgorod. I'm surprised that Paris and Berlin (or hopefully Munich) don't have a team yet...perhaps maybe in the IHA as Les Battalion or Die Bayern (The Bavarians) if Munich (assuming they'd be a Québecois affliate) http://i.imgur.com/Yz8Jexr.png
JCRGraphix
1994-95 The 1994-95 season saw some wild streaks from each side of the Atlantic. The Moscow Stars with Rookie of the Year goalie Nikolai Khabibulin and the scoring power of Sergei Fedorov skated to an impressive 15-game win streak to start the season, but that streak was ended by the Montreal Quebecois as part of their even more impressive 18 -game streak. The Kiev Angels started the season shaky with goalie Martin Brodeur out with an injury, but when he returned, the surged ahead to finish third in the Eastern European division. The Helsinki Icebreakers had an astounding season finishing second in the Western European division thanks to the scoring of young stars Eric Lindros, Peter Forsberg and Zigmund Palffy. The only question mark for the Icebreakers was young goalie Olaf Kolzig. The Prague Golems had another solid season led by the scoring duo of Jaromir Jagr and Pavel Bure with the always solid goaltending of Dominik Hasek. The Montreal Quebecois had their best season thus far finishing well atop the Eastern division in North America with Partrick Roy winning his second Tretiak Trophy and Steve Yzerman finishing second in scoring behind only Jaromir Jagr. He would be awarded the Howe Trophy as MVP. In the first round of the playoffs, the Montreal Quebecois swept the Brooklyn Emperors holding them to only 3 goals for the whole series. The second-place Boston Irish were surprised by the Washington Eagles who eliminated them in 6 games. The Eagles put up a whale of a fight, but fell to the Quebecois in 6 games. In the West, the Winnipeg Lakers led by Mario and Claude Lemieux battled it out with the Saskatoon Blazers eliminating them in 7 games. It also took 7 games for the Chicago Cardinals to eliminate Mike Richter and the Ontario Americans. The Cardinals fell in 5 games to the Lakers. Although the Lakers seemed to have all of the momentum going into the conference finals, they were no match for the juggernaut Quebecois who defeated them in 6 games. In the Eastern European division, the Moscow Stars swept the Minsk Bisons intheir first appearance in the Global Cup playoffs. In a rematch of the previous year's division finals, the Kiev Angels emerged victorious over the Prague Golems in 6 games. The Angels would surprise everyone by sweeping the Stars in the division finals. In the Western Division, the Winged Hussars of Warsaw shocked the first-place Stockholm Norsemen beating them in 5 games while the talented Helsinki Icebreakers beat the Cologne Magi also in 5 games. The Icebreakers went on to eliminate the Winged Hussars in 6 games to win the division. Martin Brodeur and the Kiev Angels proved too much for the shaky goaltending of Olaf Kolzig, and the Icebreakers fell in 6 games. The 1995 Global Cup final featured the two best goaltenders in the league, Roy and Brodeur, and they performed excellently, but the series was over in only 5 games with the Quebecois winning their second Global Cup. Regular Season Standings: European Conference: Eastern Division: 1. Moscow Stars 2. Prague Golems 3. Kiev Angels 4. Minsk Bisons 5. Riga Griffins 6. St. Petersburg Horsemen 7. Nizhny Novgorod Comets Western Division: 1. Stockholm Norsemen 2. Helsinki Icebreakers 3. Cologne Magi 4. Warsaw Winged Hussars 5. Amsterdam Royals 6. Copenhagen Hammer North American Conference: Eastern Division: 1. Montreal Quebecois 2. Boston Irish 3. Washington Eagles 4. Brooklyn Emperors 5. Toronto Bucks 6. Halifax Bombers Western Division: 1. Winnipeg Lakers 2. Chicago Cardinals 3. Ontario Americans 4. Saskatoon Blazers 5. Seattle Orcas 6. Pittsburgh Vipers 7. JCRGraphix
The 1995-96 had two more expansion teams. Let's take a look at the first: the Buffalo Thunder. The Thunder began play wearing these wild jerseys: In 1997, the Thunder adopted a new logo and a new slightly more traditional design: In 2002, an alternate jersey was added: In 2008, the Thunder changed their look again this time using the two shades of purple on their logo: In 2011, another gray alternate was added:
