And earlier in that same season they had the Lewis and Clark uniforms as well, again with an all-over print:

Forgot about these but they are pretty tame compared to what Florida and TCU have done with their animal print/pattern unis.

I'm legit surprised it took this long...I know the head honchos over at the Swoosh have been chomping at the bit to do this one for a while.

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

It reminds me a bit of VT's "Hokie Stone" jerseys from a few years back. The pattern is just too much for the jersey.

If you're going to do a pattern, it should be either sublimated or used in small amounts. This would actually look good if they only used the pattern on the pants and sleeves instead or used the blue pattern instead of "swamp" colored.

TCU needs to put stripes on their pants to match their helmet. WVU needs to go back to the design board and start again. They have a fantastic set of colors to work with, but they do not look good together on many uniform sets except for Blue, Blue, Yellow or Yellow, Yellow, Blue. The three pictures below look like crap in my opinion because not all major elements (Helmet, Jersey, Pants) share the same color scheme:

I really dont know why Nike cant do WVU right. Our colors are old gold and blue. Actually WVU back in the 60-70's era helmets actually looked more gold like Pitt and Colorado which I like! The older unis from the Nehlen era I prefer but without a doubt my favorite uniform is when Nike did the Pro Combats years ago. I still feel aside from Oregon, WVU looked the best. I would use it as a regular uniform. Its been 5 years with these current ones. I truly hope Nike does a refresh soon. I'm tired of seeing crap schools like Rutgers and others get alternates and refreshes each year. WVU might not be a blue blood but the flying WV brand is very recognizable. Hell maybe someone from WVU's side can put a word in to Rob Mullens the athletic director at Oregon who is a West Virginia native. Maybe he has some pull with Phil Knight.

That's ugly IMO, but if the recruits/players like it and if it sells at the student bookstore, go for it.

Would have much preferred a more subtle application like:

If they are going to do something wild like this they should have gone all out and continued the pattern onto the pants, not to say that would be a good look but at least it executes the concept better. Black pants would also be better than the plain grey/green pants.

Re: West Virginia...I may be on an island with this, I really enjoyed (& still prefer) their previous look, from the Pat White/Steve Slation/Noel Devine/Owen "The Headbanger" Schmitt days:

I always found it interesting how the colored panels (stripes??) subtly resembled a "W" up in the chest area--and if one really wants to go there, a "V" on each shoulder. I  liked the numbers...WV just made them work.

As for Arizona, [to me] it's clear what they need to do...

Leave it be and never fool with it again.

The all white above, & the all blue like these:

were my favorite uniforms we've ever worn. Do something like this with red options & it'd be perfect.

The Jersey looks great from what I can see. Hopefully they choose a good helmet/pants pairing to ace the look

My guess is tOSU will go with the "cannonball" helmet from last year... I can picture it working with those numbers.  As for pants, who knows?

As a graduate and fan of Ohio State, and a native of Columbus, can I say I don't need this in any way?

The Buckeyes need one helmet, one pair of pants, and two jerseys... period.

We've surpassed science fiction in uniform nonsense, but we're still just sitting around on Earth not fighting space bugs.

Put that away, this is the basis for Clemson's new alternate...

I added a little more to my report on Ohio State's uniforms:

https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2017/10/86398/first-look-retail-version-of-ohio-states-gray-alternate-uniforms-for-penn-state-game

A source close to the Ohio State football program has told Eleven Warriors the pattern in the numbers plays off of the "Land of the Wolves" mentality the team had prior to the 2016 season. It is supposed to replicate fur.

"The land of the wolves mindset is as a wolf every day, I feel like you wake up and you’re just trying to find your next meal," said quarterback J.T. Barrett. "You’re always attacking."

Is the Gators' uniform supposed to be green? Because I'm not seeing it.

Am I color blind?

I pulled the color from the Jersey using my color eyedrop tool and it is registering as darkolivegreen , #4e4b3a

I see it more as a dark slate. So if I am color blind then it's not severe.
