There's been tons of silly season IndyCar news they touched on at MidOhio and it starts and ends with Takuma Sato leaving IF Andretti switches from Honda to Chevy. Should be interesting, especially with Kannan and Helio looking like they're on the way out in the near future.

2. Newgarden

3. Rossi

4. Pagenaud

5. Kanaan

6. Dixon

7. Castroneves

8. Hunter-Reay

First it was the battle between Rahal & Kanaan & then it was the final lap battle between Power, Newgarden & Rossi. What a finish! The race for the championship is truly heating up. Great racing all around & RHR racing hard after that wreck yesterday!

Next up, IndyCar returns to Gateway!

Bumping for F1's return from summer break & IndyCar at Gateway....

Results from the Belgian Grand Prix:

1.Hamilton

2. Vettel

3. Ricciardo

4. Raikkonen

5. Bottas

6. Hulkenberg

7. Grosjean

8. Massa

9. Ocon

10. Sainz Jr.

Hamilton ties the pole record with Schmuacher & on his 200th start, managed to hold a very quick Sebastian Vettel. This is a very tight race for the championship & it will be far from a runaway. Turmoil with Force India as Ocon & Perez were at each other at the start & once again, Verstappen has issues with his car causing his 6th DNF. Not a way he would like to remember SPA especially the see of orange that was there (just don't tell Alonso, he thought it was the McLaren fan club).

Next up, Italy

Results from Gateway:
1. Newgarden

2. Dixon

3. Pagenaud

4. Castroneves

5. Daly

6. Rossi

7. Kimball

8. Hinchcliffe

9. Munoz

10. Bourdais

What a race, glad to see IndyCar back at gateway, Newgarden got the win with a very bold move against his teammate Simon Pagenaud. Making sure that he continues with his point lead & also his 4th win this season. Really ugly crash between Will Power,Ed Carpenter & Takuma Sato. Plus Bourdais came back after his scary injury at Indy, it was great to see him in the top 10.

Next up, Watkins Glen

News & Notes:

- Vettel resigned with Ferrari for 3 years, Raikkonen for 1.

- Alonso has been linked to Williams

- Sato is joining Rahal-Letterman racing givng them a 2nd car (possibly starting up the Andertti to Chevy engines & Rossi going elsewhere rumors again) Although that can also be very unlikely.

- Verstappen isn't too fond of his engine failures, may look for an escape... To where? Who knows?

Bumping for the Italian Grand Prix:

1. Hamilton

2. Bottas

3. Vettel

4. Ricciardo

5. Räikkönen

6. Ocon

7. Stroll

8. Massa

9. Perez

10. Verstappen

A brilliant performance form the Silver Arrows to a rather cold race for the Prancing Horse. Hamilton just couldn't be caught & I thought Verstappen was doomed again but he came back after the contact from Massa. Hamilton is now the points leader as F1 is done with Europe.

Next up, Singapore

Results from Watkins Glen:

1. Rossi

2. Dixon

3. Hunter-Reay

4. Castroneves

5. Rahal

6. Power

7. Kimball

8. Chilton

9. Pagenaud

10. Munoz

How does a driver celebrate signing a contract extension with his current team? Get the pole & win at Watkins Glen! Great driving by Rossi & I'm glad to see Andretti resigning him to a contract extension. Kid has a bright future. Newgarden had a rough day after hitting the exit leaving the pit. He only has a 3 point lead now with Dixon right behind him.

Next up, the season finale at Sonoma.

News & Notes:

- As mentioned, Alexander Rossi is staying with Andretti as they are also staying with Honda

- The WEC schedule is going be a bit different, it's going to a winter series & less races, gone are Silverstone, Mexico & COTA, however, they will return to Sebring & race right after IMSA's 12 hours of Sebring (12 A.M.-12 P.M.) although they hope to be back at Silverstone

- Changes have been made to LMP1 after the announcement at LeMans weren't well received.

- Alonso has interests in 2 IndyCar teams

- McLaren may run with Renault engines

- Sauber could be rebranded as Alfa Romeo Sauber

3. Bottas

4. Sainz Jr.

5. Perez

6. Palmer

7. Vandroone

8. Stroll

9. Grosjean

10. Ocon

The rain came & boy did it hurt the prancing horses. It took out Vettel, Raikkonen & Verstappen in the start of the race, also took out Alonso & most of the race would be under the safety car, 3 times to be exact. Well, Lewis needed a miracle in Singapore, he got it. He now leads with 28 points.

Next up, the final Malaysian grand prix

Results from Sonoma:

1. Pagenuad

2. Newgarden

3. Power

4. Dixon

5. Castroneves

6. Rahal

7. Andretti

8. Hunter-Reay

9. Bourdais

10. Daly

We have a new champion! Josef Newgarden has gone on to win the IndyCar championship, first American in 5 years to win it. Plus its not only his first championship, its also with his first season driving for Team Penske. There was a crazy start that took out Rossi & Hinchcliffe. However, there was good racing all around. Congratulations to Josef Newgarden!  It was a great season all around & I can't wait to see next season with the new cars!

Verstappen finally wins a race after strings of bad luck & Vettel staring form last manages to salvage a 4th place finish, almost had podium but Riccardo was making sure that didn't happen. Bumping for the results of the Japanese Grand Prix:

2. Verstappen

3. RIcciardo

4. Bottas

5. Räikkönen

6. Ocon

7. Perez

8. Magnussen

9. Grosjean

10. Massa

Due to a faulty spark plug, Vettel couldn't finish the race but this wasn't an easy race for Hamilton either thanks in part to a very aggressive Max Verstappen. He was close but it wasn't enough. Hamilton advances his points lead & could win the championship in the states but he either needs to win & Vettel finishes lower than 6th or if Hamilton finishes 2nd, Vettel will have to finish 9th or lower. Mercedes could also win the constructors championship, all they need is 17 points. So they could win both.

Next up, the United States

Lewis gets the win but not the championship. However, Mercedes did clinch the Constructor's championship. They're going to be talking about Verstappen's final overtake against Kimi & it was fantastic, too bad it was all for naught. He'll be a F1 champion soon enough. Verstappen wins the race but Hamilton wins the world's driver's championship. Becoming a 4 time champion & with that, has won the most world driver's championship under the UK. Verstappen drove with a chip on his shoulder all weekend & you could see it. He did what he needed to & won the race. However, it was overshadowed by Lewis winning his 4th title, congrats Hamilton.

2. Bottas

3. Raikkonen

4. Hamilton

5. Verstappen

6. Ricciardo

7. Massa

8. Alonso

9. Perez

10. Hulkenberg

Vettel ends his drought since Hungary. A bit of a hollow victory but some to lift up the spirits in Maranello, hopeful for a title next year. Massa ended on a high note with a top 10 in last home race in Brazil holding off his old team mate Alonso. Hamitlon fought back from his starting position & ended up 4th, coudln't make the move against Kimi. Last but not least, Ricciardo finished 6th after a first lap wreck.

Next up, the finale in Abu Dhabi

News & notes:

- Toyota is close to signing Alonso to race in LeMans

- Ferrari making there usual we will quit F1 threats.

-  Ford may pull out of WEC after the super season ends, but stay in IMSA & may develop a DPi

- Lexus is looking into doing DPi with Chip Ganassi

- Hamilton would like Riccardo as a teammate.

Formula 1's season has officially ended Bottas had a dominant car the whole race & it was Mercedes the whole time. Now the questions remains, what happens in 2018? The halo come sin & the shark fin goes away, will Ferrari finally get what they need to beat Mercedes? Will Verstappen be the threat & future that everyone predicts? Will Riccicardo get back to his winning ways?

We shall see in March next year in Melbourne.
