He was obviously a huge part of the Lions, and the way the incorporated the look of the old logo is great. After seeing these closer, I like em. not a fan of the blue pants AT ALL, and I kinda wish there was more white in the striping patterns, but overall? Not too shabby. Owner's families have done this for a while now so not surprising to see Detroit doing this as well. Cleveland did the same until the Lerner family sold the team. 8BW14 Posted April 14, 2017 Share Posted April 14, 2017 I like them overall, but they aren't great by any means. Obviously I could do without the word mark and the initials on the sleeves. I like the striping pattern and the number font is okay I guess. I would have liked to see them go with a single color helmet logo with no extra keyline and make the logo 15-20% bigger. I think it would fit the look better. I'm not really a fan of the blue pants, but I guess they'll look alright with the white jersey Color rush sucks, but that's inevitable. Red Wolf Posted April 14, 2017 Share Posted April 14, 2017 These uniforms are absolutely, totally fine. The Lions mark inside the stripes looks a lot better than I feared it would. The WCF is mostly fine, but I don't like that it goes outside of the bounds of the stripe. Though I do kind of like how clean the front of the jersey is unlike college teams who have a team logo, conference patch, and manufacturer mark all together. I also wish they had separate socks to wear with the blue pants. Having the stripes on the side helps a bit with the whole leggings issue, but not having blue on blue there would have been ideal. I would have thought the fact that their old helmet stripe was hilariously thin when compared to pants (that was the primary reason why I didn't like the last set) stripe stopped any attempt to declare those uniforms to be perfect. The sleeve wordmark is dumb, but not as noticeable as I'd feared. I think I'm mostly going to be bothered by the fact that the "LIONS" and the "WCF" are given different treatments. Make them both the same, or better, leave them off.
