Pretty much. I'd love to see a Buffalo/Minnesota style take on the Lions new look, but I'm preparing myself for a giant logo on one side of the helmet, vertical sleeve stripes, and a bunch of Nike-speak claiming the new look is a cross between the automotive industry and a lion roaming the plains of Africa.

Incorporating the stripes from this logo

wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. But I'm worried about how they'll use it. Like a vertical stripe down the chest or something stupid like that.

Also, remember the last time a Detroit team leaned too heavily on the automotive industry theme? We got this

Good call. I'd forgotten about that Lions logo. A version of that logo on the sleeves might work pretty well, actually. That said, you're right, we'll probably get a giant version of that on front of the jersey, but that's OK because it will match the one on the ass of the pants. :censored:-ing Nike. God, I hope they don't botch this.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I liked the inclusion of black in their latest uniforms, they were very solid uniforms and the striping patter worked way more than the outline-ridden mess of the Millen era, and and frankly better than the Sanders era too. Black allowed to include white into the uniform without making it disappear  or muddle up the silver in every single application.

If the Lions eliminated black, I'd rather they eliminate white from the home uniform too, taking inspiration from the 60's uniform, IMO the best ones in their history along with the current

I hope they go full Oregon Ducks on these jerseys

I really hope the new Lions uniforms reflect the craftsmanship of Detroit.

players would hate it, but i've been wanting to see a compression half-sleeve undershirt utilized in an NFL design ever sense Oregon State did it in 2010.

i believe they'll have a throwback as well, but there's no way they'll have a blue color rush, home, and throwback jersey. i think the new uniforms will riff off of the Sanders era uniforms, so if that happens why would they have a throwback to that era? either way, im starting to think whatever throwback they do will feature a white jersey

That'd be kind of interesting a white throw back

I did like the use of black in their current uniform as well. I think it could be either another Buffalo/Minnesota that ends being acclaimed, another Miami where its just meh or even Seattle which ended up being radically different, but still ok.

Unoriginal and uninformed. Kudos.

Wikipedia lists 16 different accounts for "Detroit Riots", and doesn't include 2016.. It's as much in their blood as automotive manufacturing

So then... unoriginal and wikipedia-informed?  Take a bow, Bob Woodward.
