I missed 1966 (for both teams) by about 10 months, then the Orioles were in 5 before I turned 17. I remember watching Game Six of the ALCS in 2004 and wondering why in God's name the Yankees weren't bunting against Curt Schilling and his one good leg. Francona's not gonna be like "Hey boys we're going to drop this one today. Don't want to peak too soon." That's stupid. It's really dumb that the win streak for the Jackets would've been seen as more "true" if it had just been a 14-2 or 15-1 stretch instead of 16 straight, but that's how dilberts like Ryan Lambert think. Second one, the argument that it's an invalid streak because of who they beat, is patently absurd. You know why? Go find all the other times a team played a stretch of 15 games against poor competition in a parity filled league in a sport based mostly on randomness and tell me how often even the best teams win every single one of those 15 games. They deserve a lot of credit too, Yet everyone seems focused on Cleveland. It will be interesting at least, to see which team can keep theirs going the longest.
