Harper probably went too far there, but Hunter Strickland is a :censored:ing clown. Even Buster Posey was like, I aint standing in Harper's way after that silly :censored:. Go knock him out.

I can't wait till they ditch that wannabe dudebro with zero movement.

Is it true that he was throwing at Harper because Harper hit to homers off him in the 2014 playoffs (last time they faced each other)?

If so then good for Harper and Posey.  There's nothing more lacking in sportsmanship than throwing at someone because they hit a home run off of you. Retaliation?  Not my favorite part of the game, but I get it.  But if someone hits a couple of dingers off of me, I'm not going to throw at 'em...I'm gonna try to get 'em out.  Throwing at someone because they did their job is a punk ass move.

And if Strickland gives Posey any :censored:, Posey can just say "don't worry; I'm going take a fastball to my torso for your dumb ass."

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

They showed the "incident" in the playoffs and it showed Harper in his dugout barking something at Strickland.

Strickland took the analogy "An elephant never forgets" to heart apparently.

That's the problem. Hunter Strickland isn't going to bat, so he'll never get thrown at. It basically assures that Buster Posey is gonna get clanked at some point in this series (Or by Hunter Strickland's logic, in 2021). Posey already missed a week at the beginning of the year taking an unintentional fastball off of the helmet.

And this isn't the first time that Strickland has pulled this garbage, either. He got knocked around by (I believe) Yasiel Puig in 2014 or 2015 and ended up doing basically the same thing (Along with calling him "boy", so add racist on top of idiot).

Strickland is basically the modern day John Rocker with not even an ounce of the talent or skill Rocker had. I can't wait till the Giants ditch him.

Also, I have a bit of an odd defense for that terrible helmet throw by Bryce Harper that I actually think shows an incredible amount of restraint. Instead of it just being a crappy throw, it almost looks to me like he started to huck it at Strickland’s dome (which was totally deserved), and as he began the throwing motion, kinda thought to himself, "No, this is a really stupid idea. This not only is really dangerous, but could also get my ass suspended for a solid week or two. I’ll just punch him."

I’m may be giving too much credit to Bryce Harper’s logic, and it was probably more like "CLOWN PITCH, BRO!", but I kinda think that may have been the reason for the middle school cheerleader-like throw. Bryce Harper had that dudebro mentality when he first entered the league, but, and I'm surprised I'm even saying this, I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt by now. At least in my mind.

Bryce Harper was a bit of a douche when he first started playing for the Nationals, but he was also 19 years old (Not to mention he took a world of :censored: simply for that reason alone. Cole Hamels admitted to plunking him a week into his career for that very fact). The dude still isn't old enough to rent a car. Considering his age, he's shown a tremendous amount of growth and still has a pretty unfair spotlight on him. People knock him for such petty and worthless things like his freaking bat nub stickers (which were both HILARIOUS, BTW), and absolute festering garbage like Goose Gossage promote physical violence against him over this terrible offense of pretty much just being a kid. Baseball should feel downright blessed to have Bryce Harper, and I for one have grown to freakin love the dude.

I'd take Bryce Harper over a worthless piece of :censored: like Hunter Strickland (Or a moron like Goose Gossage for that matter, too) a thousand times out of a thousand. :censored: Strickland and Gossage. Baseball doesn't need either of them. It ABSOLUTELY needs Bryce Harper.

Bryce Harper is one of my favourite players in the game right now and I think baseball is better when he's good. It's time we see some actual personality in sports. Mike Trout and Sidney Crosby are great but they have no personality whatsoever, so we need to embrace the guys like Harper and PK Subban and Adrien Beltre who can have some fun.

Strickland gets 6, Harper gets 4. Since Strickland is a reliever, it doesn't matter as much, but it affects Harper way more and he probably will appeal. It looked pretty embarrassing seeing 4-5 Giants having to drag Strickland off the field, reminded me of an out of control bratty kid.

Maybe baseball fights could be like hockey, no one else involved and let the two guys throw haymakers at one another.

Well, let's look at the rest of the Giants' rotation and bullpen. The lack of quality players has rendered the team unable to get rid of anybody until Bumgarner comes back. If the team had more quality arms (as Strickland is sadly one of the better pitchers in that pen), I'd have wanted Strickland DFA'd for being a doofus who endangered his teammates for petty reasons.

At least when Bumgarner gets into fights, he doesn't try to throw punches and have to be carried away by three players.

Strickland is a hot-head, and has a history. Didn't he randomly melt down at Salvador Perez after he crossed home plate on a teammate's home run in the 2014 World Series? Buster Posey not moving a muscle and no Giants player speaking out in support of him should be telling signs. I'm normally not a huge Bryce Harper fan, but I have to support him 100% in this situation.

I've long thought that suspensions for pitchers should be multiplied by 5 because they wouldn't appear in every game like position players would.  Call it a 6-game suspension but the pitcher sits for 30 games.  (Or, amend it to 5x for starting pitchers and 3x for relievers.)

Shoutout to the drunk White Sox fan who's making fun of Kimbrel's goofy stance with these incredibly audible chicken/crow "KHAWW!" noises.  I'm in tears.  This is infinitely the most entertaining thing I've ever encountered while watching a Sox home game.

I guess you could say that fan was trying to get Kimbrel to Baulk?

I was fascinated by the helmet throw and watched it probably ten times and I came to the same conclusion. I think he started to throw it and then stopped himself at the last millisecond and that's why it was so off target.

I liked all of the photos from the fight. Probably our hairiest bench clearing brawl in MLB history

MLB management like to see the game, and league, as too refined for that. Not certain I agree, though. Hockey just tends to be more honest about what brutes their guys can be.

This looks like a mosh pit at a baseball-themed metal concert.

The Phillies' fans did this to Kimbrel a couple years ago....got an entire section behind home plate to mock his stance.  Pretty funny stuff.

Does anyone know how tell the differences for mlb new era on  field cap vs other ones? See you got the right one? Are the New era Authentic Collection 59FIFTY caps the on field ones?

they are. Buying from a place such as fanatics, mlbshop, lids, and others make sure it is the real deal.

Hats will always be about 35 USD full price, be fitted, have the battersmans logo on back in proper colours. The ones on field prior to 2016 Postseason do not have the new era flag on them, the new ones do.

Simply, yes they are.
