At least Zack Cozart ended the Reds 0 for 25 All Star Game slump.

Really glad the game is back to not counting for anything. I didn't think it felt any different than any of the games that mattered in previous years. I liked the in-game interviews with Springer and Harper. Thought that was a cool idea.

Cubs get:

SP Jose Quintana

White Sox get:

OF Eloy Jiminez (#1 overall Cubs prospect)

P Dylan Cease (#2 overall Cubs prospect)

INF Matt Rose

INF Bryant Flete

So nothing major happened in Chicago today.

I'm still bamboozled as to how a Fat Panda won a ring, let alone World Series MVP.

In his prime, he had so much potential, and if not for MadBum in 2014, would have TWO World Series MVPs to his name. In his time with the Giants, he was probably my absolute favorite because he did things at the plate I've seriously never seen anyone do before. He could hit just about anything and put it in play no matter where it was thrown. Add to that, he was a pretty great defender for a guy as huge as he was. The problem was, you could always see the edge of the cliff with him. For as much talent as he had, he also had basically no ability to keep his weight down, and really, no care to, either.

The Giants Dodged a MAJOR bullet by losing out on him.

So Pablo will basically go down as one of those players who stopped give a :censored: once he got his ring?

Also, considering where The Giants are now, I wouldn't consider it a major relief they lost out on him.

Red Sox: 8    Celtics: 17    Bruins: 6    Patriots: 5

He won first first ring in 2010 and then was World Series MVP after that, so...no.

Grant Brisbee wrote an article detailing how the Giants could actually be in a better place if they had kept Pablo, mainly because Matt Duffy wouldn't have gotten enough playing time to get traded for the awful Matt Moore. The team would be bad now either way, though.

why is there still a NL and AL.  i feel like since they started Interleague in 1997 and got rid of both the NL and AL offices in 1999, there is no need for both a NL and AL anymore.

so long and thanks for all the fish.

I was thinking once he got a huge contract.

10PM Indians games have me like.

Speaking of the Tribe, I really wish I would’ve started work a couple months later. The Indians are in the midst of what might be the perfect road trip for traveling fans — three in Oakland, followed by three in San Francisco. See a bunch of baseball and get a long weekend in a beautiful city.

It's like the NFC and AFC in the NFL. They are more or less conferences, with a slightly different set of rules between the leagues. AL and NL are still needed, but in a different light.

Here's the article, for those curious Giants fans. I'm not complaining. The Giants cashed in big on their title window, and now that the window is (probably) over, I'm OK without a title for a while. Just have a winning record against the Dodgers, and I'll be happy.
