NBA road teams in white in 90s

In recent years NBA away teams wearing white isn't so rare but there seemed to be times in the 90s when it was, one of the earliest I can recall is a Magic Hornets game from November where the Hornets debuted their purple third uniform and I guess wanted to unveil them to their home fans, any other instances of away teams in white around this time or perhaps earlier

This is definitely a much more common occurrence in the NBA today than it was back then. I can't think of any other NBA examples off the top of my head, but I remember one time, in the early '00s I think, when Maryland, seeded fourth or fifth, played against UNC-Wilmington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and Maryland was wearing red and Wilmington wore white. I was disappointed in that because I really wanted to see Wilmington in teal or aqua or whatever they call it (they have an awesome color scheme, btw). The weird color matchup might not have been so memorable for most (I would still remember either way lol), except the Terps won a tight game on a buzzer-beater.

Only other time I know of in the modern era was March 17th, 1986. The Pistons wore their home unis in Utah, as the Jazz wore green unis (the same ones retired in 1984) to mark St. Patrick's Day.

AFAIK, the other teams that introduced 3rd unis in the 1994-95 season did so in road games.

Actually ... the Pistons wore their road blues for that game.

I could be wrong, but I think in that game the Pistons wore their regular road blues, making it a green-vs.-blue matchup.  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. EDIT: Josh.0 beat me to it.

I like this topic because it was indeed rare for teams to wear their white jerseys on the road in the 90s.  So it will probably be a fun challenge to find them.  Here's an example, though: WSH @ GS, December 1996

There are a few other things that make that 2nd picture special / unique / obscure:  It was the Washington's last season as the Bullets, it was the Warriors last season before switching to their navy/orange/yellow "lightning bolt" identity, it has Gheorge Muresan in it (tied for tallest player in NBA history), Mark Price in a Golden State Warriors uniform (definite "player in the wrong uniform," and a throwback at that), and despite being a regular season home game for the Warriors, this game was played at the San Jose Arena (a definite "team in the wrong stadium").

I went to the Warriors Kings game at Golden1 earlier this year and the Kings wore their black alts, which forced the Warriors into their home whites. I thought that was pretty strange because it feels sort of uncommon. I wore my white Kevin Durant jersey though so that was pretty cool.

Here's another one, although a little harder to see - SEA @ WSH in November 1996.  Bullets wore blue throwbacks at home, forcing the Sonics to wear their home whites.  This was also only one of four matchups ever that featured the Bullets (before they became the Wizards) vs. the Sonics in their cartoony late-90s green/yellow/red look.

Also Latrell Sprewell in a blue and yellow jersey, always think of him in the navy/orange/yellow set.

No because when the Irish came to Ireland and first came in contact with the leprechaun people, they didn't take their land away and force them to move west. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms.

This "City" jersey seems off. What was the NOB like?

Yeah, can't believe I got that one wrong... I was actually looking at the above picture a few minutes earlier. It's been a long weekend...

That was the year the Coliseum was being renovated so the Warriors played their home games in San Jose.

When the Jazz got their black unis, they had their first home game of the season in them. I can't seem to find a picture of it.

I seem to recall the Rockets wearing navy for their home opener the first year they had those pajama unis...and for some reason, I seem to recall the Knicks choosing to debut their black-side paneled unis at home too.

That game was so depressing for Bulls fans. First game after the dynasty was broken up... and it had to be at the site of their last and greatest triumph. Ugh.
