I wait for the day Boo Berry, Franken Berry and Count Chocula hit the shelves (usually Labor Day) and buy a whole bunch of it so I can eat it year-round.

Sometime around 2002, I special ordered a case of Kaboom from the General Mills website (you could order "rare" cereals directly from them). I don't remember the exact circumstances, but it caused me to overdraw my bank account and I never got the cereal.

I don't eat much cereal, but if I do it's usually Kashi Go Lean. And once every few years I'll go crazy and get a box of Lucky Charms. Tastes like memories.

I'm a sucker for any new cereals that appear to be making a serious effort, and especially any cereals that were discontinued and then brought all the way back from the graveyard because of customer demand. I found these two to be particularly good:

And this is is next on my priority list:

These were good, but I missed the way regular Lucky Charms make the milk taste.

Chocolate Chex are actually my go-to chocolate cereal.

I eat cereal maybe 2-3x a week, rotating between Raspberry, Maple, & Brown Sugar frosted mini wheats.

(& no, not 3 boxes in the house at a time... just whenevsalad I finish one I buy the next)

Call me old but Cranberry Almond Crunch and Vector are always my first choices. Also, cereal has never really been a breakfast thing for me... more of an evening snack type of food.

Side note: I wish you could get Apple Jacks in Canada.

  1. Life - equal parts wholesome & heavy, sweet & neutral, the best overall cereal made
  2. Captain Crunch - the golden standard of sugary cereal excellence, no crunchberries, cowards
  3. Honey Nut Cheerios - a true classic, it is as rich in memories as it is delicate flavor
  4. Pops - inarguably is the worst stale cereal, when fresh? delightful!
  5. Frosted Rice Krispies - they aren't themselves when plain, but thankfully the frosted variety is the best way to inhale rice krispies.  boxes never last, however
  6. Honey Smacks (Golden Crisp also acceptable) - dig em! best post-cereal milk, hands down
  7. Reese's Puffs - spherical cereal comes no better than this, pleasant Kix crunch with vastly improved peanut buttery flavor
  8. Cinnamon Chex - chex is such a versatile cereal, and when dazzled in cinnamon, woo!  a pleasure every time
  9. Froot Loops - I follow my nose dutifully, and frankly enjoy this cereal more after it's gotten a bit soggy; a great change of pace
  10. Frosted Mini-Wheats - when I feel the need for more roughage, ol' mini wheats never let me down

Honeycomb and Quisp are my all time favorites. Cocoa Puffs are pretty good too.
