johnnysama
To me, Willie Stargell (pictured here clean-shaven!) will be more associated with both of the Pirates' double-knit pullover jersey/beltless trouser combo sets of the 1970s and 80s (as he spent much of his career wearing them from 1970-82), than the traditional vest set pictured here (he spent his first 8 seasons, 1962-70 wearing them).

So, I'll be the one to ask: what exactly is going on in this photo?

Not only did the darker helmets not match the purple of the uniforms, but they sometimes looked almost reddish in direct sunlight. The new helmets fixed both of those problems, and the metallic color added a little visual pop to the uniform as well. 5 Quote oh ,my god ,i strong recommend you to have a visit on the website ,or if i'm the president ,i would have an barceque with the anthor of the articel . I agree with the post above me, the lighter helmet. I just love the UCLA stripes with the logo on the sleeves and yellow outline on the numbers. Although I think I prefer the Tarkenton-era home jerseys to the Moss-era.

johnnysama
Bruce Matthews was the face of the Houston Oilers, and followed them to Tennessee; he spent the last three seasons of his career as a Tennessee Titan; so this is the right team, but wrong uniform, and wrong team name too.

johnnysama
It's hard to believe, but Tampa Bay fullback Mike Alstott spent his rookie campaign in the last year of the Bucs' creamsicle uniform set.
