Players on the "RIGHT" Team, but "WRONG" Uniform

Recommended Posts

Bryant Young of the San Francisco 49ers.

He wore the classic 49ers uniform for only 3 games in 1994 and the 1995 season. The rest of his career was when the 49ers wore their 1996-2008 style uni (updated shade of red, more of a number outline).

He retired in 2007, the second to last year before the 49ers went back to the future with their uniforms.

Matt Ryan's rookie season was the last year Atlanta had this rare black third jersey (Starting in 2009, they changed the black jersey to a retro throwback look they've used since)

ATL used this as an occasional uniform from 2003-2008 and Ryan only wore this twice (home games vs. TB/CAR)

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Richard Sherman as a rookie before the Nike makeover.

(If you get a chance, read this about Sherman and the Seahawks: https://t.co/uwpNDuLXAS)

This one is pretty incredible. It's so odd how dramatically the perception surrounding the Seahawks shifted in 2012. Russel Wilson, the face of the Nike takeover, etc. I feel like it started with the "beastquake" but there's something so "Every team in the NFC West finishes 8-8" about this photo that just does not match "Richard Sherman" at all.

I think of him being on the team that won Super Bowl XXIX. Didn't realize he was in only three games that season.

Remember they wore their throwbacks most of that year, especially after that a$$kicking Philly gave them at home.
