The Wild are having Minnesotans provide their favorite local pond water to make the ice at the Xcel Energy Center:

I think that's actually a pretty cool idea. I just hope the fans don't get sanctimonious about the state of hockey team playing on pond water. They will.

"Hey Bill, what do you want me to do with all the gross water in the Gate 1 Zamboni, eh?"
"Boss says just to take it into the parking lot, dump the dreck and hose it out after."

"You bet."

I'm not sure what to think about this idea. Part of me wants to think it's kind of AWESOME, but part of me thinks it's SUPER pretentious.

So, in this scenario, getting to 104 degrees instead of 102 is "winning"? I don't follow.

Vegas Twitter intern should probably hold their tongue for a while, since their GM traded everything away for 2020 draft picks.

So more Vegas media stuff, AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain, the television home of your Golden Knights, is still not available in 70% of Las Vegas homes:

ATTSNRM is available on DirecTV and Dish, but not in Vegas cable providers Cox and CenturyLink.

Maybe instead of being "the team of the Rocky Mountains" and getting a channel that reaches into Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, you should've just been the team of  :censored: ING LAS VEGAS signed with a channel that reaches into MOTHER :censored: ING LAS VEGAS.

Finally, some good news for Southern Nevada hockey fans who want to watch the Golden Knights in the comfort of their living room.

CenturyLink announced Friday it had reached a deal with AT&T SportsNet to put the channel on its Prism TV system. AT&T SportsNet, which is the TV rights holder for the Knights, goes on the air next Friday. The channel will be located on the Prism system on channel 760 in standard definition and channel 1760 in high definition.

In addition to the Golden Knights, AT&T SportsNet televises Mountain West football and basketball games, including UNLV and UNR contests.

“We are focused on providing Prism TV subscribers with the best entertainment choices, so it was very important to us to ensure that Vegas Golden Knights hockey and Mountain West Conference collegiate sports were part of the channel lineup for our Nevada Subscribers,” said Jeremy Ferkin, CenturyLink vice president for operations in Nevada.

Let us not forget that we are currently in a time period where two teams are "honoring" the Colorado Rockies...

We'll only know for sure if someone donates a urine sample.

My DIY magnetic standings board is ready for the season. My wife said I had to keep it at my office and not on our refrigerator.

Looks good!

I always laugh at how the Senators logo comes out in these types of things, like the guy is peering out of a mail slot or something.

Nicely done with the Kings, a lot of tv graphics forego the crown and focus on the LA part when cropping the logo.

The Minnesota ice thing would be a little more understandable if they clearly state they will filter and purify all the collected waters before laying it down for the season. Not to disparage the fine folks of Bemidji and Mankato but it's probably got bugs and :censored: in it.

Did we talk about the two-minute bench minor for a failed offside challenge? Obviously the hope is that it will spook coaches out of splitting hairs on gaining the line, but since they're all splitting hairs, why not just get rid of the offside challenge and let the booth review it?
