Are most of the guys FAs? They've got a solid core there. I don't even think they need to add much. The younger kids will be better and the division will still be theirs for the taking.

Hayward (Player option), Hill, Ingles (Restricted), Mack, and Withey are all FA's. The young guns like Gobert, Hood, and Favors all still have some time and Diaw and Johnson are vets still on contract also.

I think they can afford to let Mack, Withey, and possibly even Hill go (granted that 1) they're certain Exum is ready to take over or 2) they can land another perfect-fitting vet). Hayward and Ingles though, in my mind, have to be kept. Hayward for obvious reasons, and Ingles for his shooting and his playmaking abilities. His numbers don't blow you away (except his 3pt percentage), but he's a "little things make the difference" kind of guy and a whole lot more valuable than he's given credit for. Watch season highlights and chances are Ingles either made the play or was a huge part of it.

Either way though, whatever happens, I have a whole lot of confidence in the Front Office and Coaching Staff to roll with it. Lindsey has been a phenomenal GM so far and Snyder is a terrific developer and all-around great coach. Even in the worst case scenario, they'll make the best of it.

To go with your analogy, Trout is more like Westbrook this year. Very good player on a team that doesn't provide enough support for him. Harden is more like Kris Bryant where he is certainly a very good player, but he has help around him. I've seen the Rockets take control of games with him on the bench.

Personally, I believe these MVP type awards should take playoff performance into consideration in all sports. This is a hot take apparently, but I'll stand by it.

I know there's a Finals MVP trophy, but is there a playoffs MVP?

I agree that Harden is on a good team, and that they would still be successful without him (not 55+ win successful, but playoff team no doubt). I'm not arguing for him to be MVP (Westbrook is my pick), but I am saying that his playoff performance shouldn't be taken into account. You're stance is different, and I'll respect it but I do disagree.

Good God, Houston. How absolutely pathetic.

The NHL playoffs have been mostly :censored: this year. But the NBA playoffs? My goodness. Absolutely BUH ROOTAL. Not a truly good series yet, and I don't think we're gonna get one till the Finals (which could STILL be a bloodbath).

Talk about a rough lead into summer.

Has LMA had this good a game since joining the Spurs? It's really impressive to see him show up and be dominant on the road. Of course, Houston is rolling over and dying, but Aldrige has been killing them the last couple of games.

Eventually size matters in the playoffs, rebounds matter, and you lose your legs hitting jump shots. Mostly happens to teams that aren't the Warriors, but we'll see next round.

I'll always pull for the Spurs, but it's a real shame to see Houston go out like this after the season they've had. It will be good to have the Spurs/Warriors series we missed the last two years.

I feel bad for Mike D'Antoni. He's a guy you want to see succeed.

Pop is like Belichick.... he does nothing but win, but he's so easy to root against.

He's just so joyless all the time. Great coach, but he's never happy.

I absolutely HATE the Spurs, but Pop is awesome. What are you even talking about? He's like a 180 degree turnaround from the hoodie.

I hate the Warriors so much that I'm going to be rooting for one of the Lakers' arch rivals to beat them (love Pop though. Fantastic Coach and human).

Let's go Spurs.

That. Felt. Weird.

Cowboys - Lakers - LAFC - USMNT - LA Rams - LA Kings - NUFC

Dork Elvis only had one think big in Nené, who got hurt. Can't use those Louisville guys (Harrell and the rookie Onuaku).

Montrezl Harrell was playing pretty well before Capela came back. I don't know why he wasn't better integrated into the roster throughout the season. He's not Draymond, but the league also doesn't need you to be 6'11 to be a good PF anymore.

If it wasn't apparent already, Pop is up there with Phil, Pat, and yes, Red as one of the best coaches ever. To go to Houston without Kawhi and Parker and beat them by 39? Jeez man.

He just seems so joyless, hard to root for.

And besides, I'm tired of him basically winning with old guys, no names, bubble gum, and tape.

Seriously, once he is done coaching, the Spurs will just be another team.

After the Wizards-Celtics series, I think I'm done with the NBA for this season.

We have the God-like Warriors and the Pop-led Spurs team that LeBron can almost never beat. The West is winning the Finals.
