BigBryArab
This is my first project of this sorts as I've only had PS for about 6 months. however, I've also been into the logos, designs, etc of basketball teams, so i decided to create redesign the entire NBA. This series will include some teams getting full updates, some getting minor tweaks, and some getting an entirely new identities. There will also be a few expansion teams. C&C IS definitely appreciated as this is my first project and i would like to know what i can work on! On to the first Concept. DETROIT PISTONS I wanted to keep this clean and sharp, but still give them something to make them unique. the two tone was in part inspired by the raptors early 2000's purple/black jerseys (Not the recent USA olympic jerseys, although i now realize there are several similarities.) i was never a big fan of their most recent word mark, as its too bubbly, so i went in the direction of a sharper font. ATLANTA HAWKS I haven't particularly liked any hawks jerseys since the classic Dominique era jerseys, so i considering using those to influence my new ones. however, i felt the hawks needed something more refreshing, so i went away with the red and yellow (volt?) in favor of the older blue and green jerseys. And finally my first expansion team BALTIMORE ROYALTY A perhaps underused color scheme in my eyes. We'll start off with the logo. (Don't worry this is the only jersey in the series that features a gradient jersey, but i felt the green/light green could work on these while still looking simple and clean) thank you for viewing. More too come soon!
luketheduke03
Very surprised at how much I like the Pistons set, grey is very underutilized in the NBA. Atlanta is good, but I'm interested in what you do with the Mavericks because usually people use blue and green for them. I think I would like Baltimore more if the red was the away and the green was the alt.
Krz
Detroit: kind of raptorsish on the back which I like, however the font you used is a little bland Atlanta: cool combonation of eras, very 60's but also modern, never been a huge fan of that hawks color scheme though Baltimore: don't really like that gradient on the logo, love the Baltimore script makes it unique, maybe try using that same style for the royalty script, I like the checkerboard on the logo maybe include it on the jerseys?, color scheme looks a lot like the former bucks though Excellent! BigBryArab
Next up... NEW ORLEANS JAZZ i could never stand the Utah Jazz for obvious reasons. So bringing back the jazz was essential for me. SAN ANTONIO SPURS I didn't want to make many changes to their home/away sets other than changing the word mark that i was never really fond of. For these however, i tried to give their identity a bit more life. combining their fiesta colors of the 90's with the black jersey/black font of the 70's, i came up with these which i call "Texas Nights" alternates stay tuned for boston and milwaukee
Krz
I am ready to buy all those jazz jerseys, but I kinda miss the spur on the U in the spurs jerseys. Love the fiesta jersey though Excellent!
BigBryArab
BOSTON CELTICS like most i wanted to keep these simple and traditional. my major change comes from going with the no-collar look as i felt although they've always kept the same striped collar, this would give a cleaner sharper look. i went back to the original celtics word mark for the away and made the boston word mark for only the alternates. otherwise, fairly traditional jerseys MILWAUKEE BUCKS the bucks have some of the better uniforms that have been introduced in the past 5-10 years in my opinion. the only thing that threw my off was the blue. when i first saw it on their court i thought i was seeing something wrong because blue wasn't even in their concept (or so i thought.) i dont like the way its scarcely used on their uniforms so i decided i had to either rid of it completely or embrace it. Other than that, i kept them fairly the same "Great Lakes" Alternate I rid of the green for these alts, going with the blue and cream colors to provide a alternate that stands out from their original concept C&C Greatly appreciated! luketheduke03
Jazz and Bucks are especially awesome, love what you did with both of their color schemes

iamdaviinci
Pistons - I don't mind the old Raptors-esque front/back color blocking, especially on the away uniforms. I think the color balance is a little off elsewhere, though, as the red and blue are never employed together as accents, outlines, etc. It feels like it could be a bit more cohesive. Hawks - Great color palette, I absolutely love the front of the jerseys! I think the striping could afford to be extended, though....instead of just stopping at the top and bottom of the front of the jersey, what if it extended on to the back and/or shorts? This would create a little more continuity perhaps. Also, the home shorts could use some blue in the striping pattern where white currently is. Royalty - Fun concept, but a lot of the striping patterns feel awkward and inconsistent. Also, I can't unsee "Battimore" on the script instead of "Baltimore." The green gradient alternate works, but would probably pop more with red wordmarks and numbers instead. Jazz - These are outstanding....only nitpick would be the striping pattern for the collars not matching the rest of each uniform's striping pattern. Fix that and these are perfect! Spurs - The wordmark and number font feel off, as do the inconsistencies in strokes around each. Also, the solid black collar and armhole trim clashes a bit with the silver waistband, especially considering the tri-color side panel striping on the home and away uniforms. Font aside, that "Texas Nights" jersey with the fiesta color palette is awesome! Celtics - The Celtics' jerseys have always bothered me because the side panel striping from the shorts doesn't continue on to the jerseys, so I think removing the collar and armhole trim as well while preserving the shorts design is a step in the wrong direction. These don't look bad, but the cleanliness of the jerseys make the shorts feel somewhat busy in contrast. Bucks - Not bad. "Milwaukee" may be a bit much to fit on the front of the away jersey, and it's a little too much blue for my tastes, but these are decent. Good start so far....can't wait to see more! BigBryArab
a few updates. Changes to the hawks are more obvious as i continued the stripe to the back of jersey and added a recolored version of one of their secondary logos to the shorts to give them more identity the spurs alt i updated the collar, NOB and the nike logo s
BigBryArab
UTAH REBELS the Utah franchise gets a new identity as the Jazz go back to New Orleans MIAMI HEAT The Heat have been long overdue for an update. for the Aways and alternates i narrowly decided to go without white altogether. although i have a version of both with white outlines i can post if there is interest. "South Beach" Alternates i made these more for fun. decided to post them anyways
FightingGoldenDevil
I absolutely love this series! Can I suggest for Minnesota you do a "Northern Pride" alternate. You can take that where you think it would go but I'm sad the Vikings are the only Minnesota team that embraces our northern-ness since the stars left

It was a whole set with South Beach colors. He didn't have side stripes that looked like neon lights, though - those are nifty!

BigBryArab
BROOKLYN NETS I dont hate the idea of their current concept, just the execution. I maintained the simplicity of their current identity while adding striping to make them less.. well boring "Brooklyn Blues" "BK Gold" ORLANDA MAGIC incorporated the sublimated stars on the side and the pin stripes on the rest of the jersey. tried to do this without looking too cluttered. Stay tuned for my next expansion team! Let me know what teams you'd like to see next!

BigBryArab
Next expansion team BRONX HUSTLERS "Bronx Pride" Alternates. i think the inspiration is pretty obvious here. LOS ANGELES LAKERS similar to the celtics i rid of the collar designs and any only used white as an outline color as opposed to their current white number fill. Also added is a slight drop shadow to the numbers and word mark ( but not as extreme as the 70's-90's lakers) Lastly is a new number font. I heavily considered using the "Los Angeles" word mark on the normal aways but decided against it. instead, i added it to the white alternates. an word mark heavily influenced by their early 60's jerseys. Let me know what you think! all feedback is appreciated and helps me with my work Im thinking we'll see New York next, but I'm also taking requests for teams anyone would like to see next! BigBryArab
I know i said New York was next, but they're coming soon CHICAGO BULLS dropped all black accents and to go with just red/white to modernize them. added a new "Chicago" wordmark influenced by the 70's/80's cursive font.
