Fixed, haha. Not sure why I didn't just have Adam Jones in the first place.

If I incorporated black now, I think it would be too difficult to bring in to the other uniforms and still makes things cohesive. I might save red and black for another team down the line though..

I was talking about the Braves lol. The all brown cap on the Orioles is a little bit of a miss, the bird blends in too much

That's what- She

I know you were, that's why I said red and black. And do you suggest I just scrap it?

Moving on to a pretty simple design today for the Boston Red Sox:

Logos

5932c961732ab_BostonRedSoxLogos.thumb.png.654a751087c240336cf0330773db42c1.png

-Although this is one of the most common changes made for the Red Sox, there's a reason why the change is so popular, of course. Red & green look very good as complementary colors, are underused as a scheme, and fit the Sox perfectly without sacrificing any historical value.

-I decided to use the darker of the two shades in this logo because I felt it provided nice contrast.

-For now, the primary logo is just the two socks, but I would possibly change that if somebody would want me to.

Uniforms

593707d974d37_BostonRedSoxHome.thumb.png.3402920ce59eb88d4ab227f1b3933661.png593707e11cff8_BostonRedSoxAway.thumb.png.c1d238211da080a5c7b56314963047c8.png

5932cc523f7b7_BostonRedSoxAlternate1.thumb.png.206ea7a464263884d1be7712b3711bff.png

-These uniforms are largely based of the Red Sox 70's uniforms, which are my personal favorite in their history.

-I decided to go with a green away uniform, it would be unique and still allow for red socks to be worn and not be too much.

-The Red Sox are the one team whose socks are characterized by having no pattern at all.

-I thought about adding the red front panel cap seen here, if someone wants me to add that I can.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I'll be posting both Chicago teams Monday, I decided I'll be doubling up whenever the two-team cities come up throughout the series.

Hard to find anything wrong with this Red Sox concept, but I would base the socks off these beauties:

image12.jpeg

And if the Cubs and Sox are next, I guess that rules out the possibility of one of the expansion teams being Charlotte...

I do like the way those socks look, especially in @SFGiants58's series. I'm personally in the camp though that it takes away from them being called the Red Sox if I do that. Besides, those would end up looking very similar to the Orioles' stripes I just used.

I thought about maybe adding white vertical stripes around the top of the sock to mimic the logo, but I feel like that would look silly.

And yes, unfortunately Charlotte/Carolina will not be an expansion team. They were one of the final ones I considered however, there just wasn't room.

Anyone else have any comments on the Red Sox, or even the series as a whole so far?

Alright well we've got a doubleheader of sorts today, as both Chicago teams are up to the plate, with the Cubs going first:

Logos

5935b1d0433d2_ChicagoCubsLogos.thumb.png.9accf499d351ab04188cc12cdf0f1511.png

-This might be blasphemous to some, but only one team can have royal and red, and I felt this scheme worked as a reference to the Chicago flag.It was a scheme I really wanted to use, and I think it looks good.

Uniforms

5935b3b9a7a23_ChicagoCubsHome.thumb.png.b5dbb76e188929078956b74a8674accb.png5935b3a0551e3_ChicagoCubsAway.thumb.png.77eaa23da7e55ce46e408c073c9148af.png5935b3da12466_ChicagoCubsAlternate.thumb.png.1d7e42d2deb29913d74ac25633f7e73f.png

-Pretty simple translation to the new scheme, with stripes added to the sleeves of the home and all of the socks.

Next up are the White Sox:

Logos

5935b540aba47_ChicagoWhiteSoxLogos.thumb.png.d46934e371f7b6ed427924be11cfe165.png

-This was one of the hardest teams to redesign, as I never felt confident in my tweak design.

-I saw their late 80's script and thought it might go well with the early 80's uniform style and today's modern taste for flat logos, if it all meshed as imagined. I removed the tail and straightened the scripts in order to attempt this.

-The primary and cap logos are a mix of the classic old Sox logo and the ox from the script.

-Anthracite/graphite is the secondary color to be a nice in-between of black and white.

Uniforms

5935b8ac647bc_ChicagoWhiteSoxHome.thumb.png.efa9355cbfb67df5e073aee2be231117.png5935b99fae424_ChicagoWhiteSoxAway.thumb.png.8703d580c50dc2f6a66eb758be463cad.png5935b9c6bc8aa_ChicagoWhiteSoxAlternate.thumb.png.3df34f0dedf0ad5bb9458185674caf94.png

-A fairly direct update of the White Sox famous 80's uniforms stylistically, I still tried to combine other elements from all over Sox history for this set.

-The away is one of the very few grays in the series, but being dark gray and part of the scheme I felt it suited.

-The socks are naturally white but have a stripe to match the jersey.

-I really considered adding an all white cap to the set, let me know if I should do that.

C+C appreciated for Chicago's teams!

Too much unevenness in the White Sox font and hat logos.  I realize it's supposed to look hand written, but there's still too much up-and-down in the wordmark, and in the hat, the O is for italicized more than the X.  Looks awkward.  Straighten every thing out and it'd look really really really good.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Really digging both Chicago teams. Could we see a cubs alt with light blue as the main color instead of red? Also I think the white sox set would be improved if the collar/pants piping and numbers had outlines that match the sleeves and chest to better unify the set.

I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling the heavy use of red for the Cubs. I get that you're mimicking the Chicago flag colors, but the red makes them look too much like the hated rival Cardinals. I'd experiment by replacing the red with brown. It makes sense for a team with a bear-themed identity, and as we've seen very recently, powder blue and brown can look absolutely beautiful together.  Most importantly, it would remain a unique color combo amongst the rest of your league.

Also, I've never been a fan of the walking bear logo, and right now it's vanishing into the rest of the jersey. Go with a recolored version of this logo, which is very popular among Cub fans.

I like what you've done with the White Sox, and I don't think you need to add a solid white cap.

You have some fair points here, I honestly didn't consider their similarities to the Cardinals. To fix this, I could either just straight up replace the red alternate with a light blue one, as @BenD requested:

5936ef4ca19e5_ChicagoCubsAlternate.thumb.png.903bda4a9230314309196b34932e0f0b.png

Or I could go in the direction of replacing the red with brown, which would look like this:

5936f35af1418_ChicagoCubsLogos.thumb.png.cf0e17fb9775f99cba94ecc284e3084a.png5936f36220c6b_ChicagoCubsHome.thumb.png.8fa343736bfe26d9aa211765501236f5.png5936f36a2ef03_ChicagoCubsAway.thumb.png.26d260e3178dd4484efe843ecf8099c9.png5936f3722ef7e_ChicagoCubsAlternate.thumb.png.0223a14ebd6cb1dff63dfa34dba8db15.png

The alternate's chest logo is a combination of the cap logo and this logo that @coco1997 suggested. The patch on the home is a combination of these two logos, as I feel the brown & light blue fits the old school aesthetic well. On the away the patch is just the bear.

The striping for the set as a whole was directly based off the White Sox early 80's sets, which used the same style. Should I still switch it do you think?

I honestly was not sure what you were talking about at first, but now I see. I tried to straighten it the best I could, and I decided to just scrap the primary logo in place of a Sox script logo based off of the wordmark.

I would greatly appreciate any more comments/suggestions if possible.

That diagonal S-o-x is pretty terrific. It's nice direction that hasn't been seen before. Looks a lot like this 60's helmet. Very cool.

I think it'd also look nice on a spring training or BP jersey.

I appreciate it. I admit I was inspired by @piratesfan16's MLB series which used similar design elements to mine, so the logo was not my original idea. Credit goes to him!

that's real nice!

For the Cubs: I'd stay away from an all-red cap...while I don't think they'd look like the Cards, it's not really necessary. You could always do a red bill.

I like the updated White Sox set. Only thing I'd change is the pant piping...I'd make it silver/blk/silver and blk/w/blk to match the jerseys.

Overall, excellent work!!!

Thank you! I'd agree with the problem of using a red hat for the Cubs. Here is a version with a light blue cap. I don't necessarily mind it but it is probably kind of overkill, I might just have to officially switch to the brown.

And here is a version with matched striping, as @BenD also suggested. I think I like the first version better, but this doesn't look bad by any stretch.

Alright so unless anyone has any objections, I think I'm going to make the Cubs go with the brown and light blue set. I might try to give a future team some variation of light blue and red down the line.

Anyways, here is today's team, the Cincinnati Reds:

Logos

593807f07f4be_CincinnatiRedsLogos.thumb.png.8d5414409e2231f4b9b8191de2f5c39d.png

-Not much to change for the Reds since my tweaks concept, since the Reds were already given their own unique color scheme and uniform changes. If you would like to see my process of making this set in that series, click here.

-The 'REDS' font in the primary has been changed to match the rest of the set.

-The red uniform becomes the away, and a darker red cap and jersey have also been added.

Uniforms

593808dc201d5_CincinnatiRedsHome.thumb.png.87c94c5b038ebbe895c0e48d0db0da91.png593808e441ec2_CincinnatiRedsAway.thumb.png.a8b5631055c21d7c306c10d219bae437.png593808ec0fa02_CincinnatiRedsAlternate.thumb.png.91731fd2e0462e4a8070739333ba6540.png

593808f359afd_CincinnatiRedsAlternate2.thumb.png.cc445cd188b1fe080d3cf12045660867.png

-As previously said, not much changes with this set.

-The away uniform is given a white cap, belt, and socks to break up all of the red.

-The 'Reds' script alternate was almost a second white jersey, based off of this, and given red pants. However, I realized I'd kind of be breaking my own rule by having colored pants at home. If anyone would prefer me to bring back an all-white version of that, feel free to let me know.

I know there is not much new stuff coming from today's team, but if anyone would want to maybe give me comments on the series as a whole thus far that would be nice.

Reds: Going with the white cap is the right idea for a solid red road uniform. Another idea might be to use the deeper red for undersleeves and stirrups (cap too?). Something to keep things from getting to searing.

White Sox: I like the original striping better. If anything it might be best to just ditch the collar and pants striping altogether.
